The cottage is well located at the top of Staithes providing parking and with the village only a few minutes walk away. We came to walk parts of the Cleveland Way and so this was an ideal position. As we walked one day to Whitby and the next to Saltburn before getting the bus back on each day it is nice to know that the cottage is a minutes walk from the bus stop!
We stayed at peelers rest over the Staithes life boat weekend & it was in a perfect location. Really quiet at the top of the hill away from the general hub bub in the harbour. Lee the owner was really friendly & there if needed but then left us to our own devises which was great. Didn't feel you were "attached" to the owner. Very clean and tidy & had all we needed for a 3 night stay.
We would recommend peelers rest & Staithes is a lovely, quaint fishing village to get away from it all. Cod & lobster pub in the harbour does good food, as does the fish & chip shop next to peelers rest. We really enjoyed our stay
really good little apartment for small family, great price for what you get, all amenities there, all you need and all v.clean and tidy, comfy bed, ample parking and a great host. next door to a good chippy plus a coop, and only a short walk to the heart of staithes. a gem in a place where its hard to find accom. at high season.
great place to stay and explore the area lee very helpful nothing to much trouble would stay again good pubs and great chippy all with in easy reach
Just returned from Peelers rest. Very clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay, everything you need is on hand. A little home from home to relax. Fortunate as the weather was a little bit inclement!! Cod and Lobster pub really nice and friendly right on the harbour side. If you have a dog go to Saltburn Valley Gardens, lovely walk and a stream ideal for your dog to swim. Will return most definitely.
This is an ideal place to stay for visiting the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors. Staithes beach is a ten minute walk away and the picturesque village of Goatland half an hours drive. We walked different parts of the Cleveland Way and then caught the bus back. The stop is two minutes from the property. There is a local co-op store just past the bus stop and a good selection of pubs. The property is clean and the bed comfortable. Also there is a space outside for your car unlike a lot of places in Staithes.
Had a great couple of nights at Staithes this weekend with my husband and our 2 dogs. Peeler's Rest was excellent, Spotlessly clean, all we needed in the accommodation and ideally situated. We will definitely return and would highly recommend it. Thanks for a great weekend.
