Good food, excellent service, everyone made welcome young and old alike. Well worth the visit and to learn about the area from the locals who can be found their.

“Tasty food, great service.”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

We visited today in the hope of a hot cuppa to counter the chilly weather. We received a warm welcome and decided to have lunch as well as a drink. The staff were excellent, really helpful. We opted for 2 ploughmans and a gluten free brie and apricot toastie for my mum. The kids had crumpets and a milkshake. The food was delicious and we were pleased to get 4 different cheeses on the ploughmans. the gluten free bread was homemade big slices too. The tea came with an extra pot of hot water and even more hot water was brought when we asked for it. The staff were really good with the kids too.

The only issue we found was there was no highchair, luckily we had a travel one in the car that we were able to strap to a normal chair. They could do with a similar thing that wouldn't take up much space so that in future nobody has to try to eat lunch with a baby balanced on their lap.

We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Staithes.

“Wonderful little place!!”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

My Mum, friend & I went to the Tea Room on our first day in Staithes & it was absolutely lovely!!
We all had lunch, sandwiches & a pot of tea for 3. It is waitress service & our food & tea came very quickly. My Mum said her bacon butty was the nicest she'd had in years!! I had the creamy egg mayonnaise which was delightful & my friend had the mature cheddar & ham on malted bread...it was all beautiful :) I would highly recommend the Tea Room to everybody who gets a chance to visit. The staff are very friendly & the menu is varied & there are daily specials every day.

“Small but beautifully formed!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

We hadn't planned on trying here for lunch but we're pleased we did!
6 of us and apart from 2 we all wanted a slight "tweak" to the sandwiches on offer to take away with us - and the lovely ladies happily made the changes, as this is not an establishment that has "here's one we made earlier" ready to serve, Oh no! they make them fresh in front of you there and then.
We went back the following day and once again asked for changes and once again, with big smiles on their faces, they happily adapted.
It's a tad on the expensive side it has to be said (the second day we just wanted 1 x tuna mayo and 1 x egg mayo with ham and cheese = £8 to take away so no garnish etc) but the sandwiches are good quality and packed full.
And after walking up "that hill" out of the village it's in the perfect position to take a breather!
