“EXCELLENT, everything you could want and more”
Reviewed October 14, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Easy to book through Tripadvisor. Prompt replies to emails to the owner. Lovely clean cottage, modern and with lovely finishing touches. Real character property. A great base to visit lots of The Lincolnshire Wolds, Woodhall Spa, Lincoln, Skegness, a steam railway nearby. Thank for a lovely welcome, and the fresh eggs, homemade scrumptious cakes and the range of becerages, not forgetting the milk too. BIG thanks. Definately recommended.

“Very spacious comfortable accommodation & enclosed garden in quiet area.”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Most spacious cottage that we have stayed in and appreciated the enclosed garden for our 2 dogs. The owners made us feel very welcome with lots of nice touches such as the cupcakes & wine on our arrival. Lots of nice places to visit in this area both in the countryside & the coast for walking & eating out. We were really lucky with the weather as sunny all week.

“Perfect for my Bridal party”
Reviewed September 11, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I booked the Pigsty for my wedding party to get ready in and for guests to stay in the night of the wedding. It was the perfect location as it is so light and airy - windows on both sides with views across the fields - full of hay bails this time of year and beautiful. There was myself, 5 adults, 3 children getting ready as well as 2 hairdressers a make up artist and photographer before my sister, husband and daughter arrived. The secure garden meant we could leave the children running in and out as we got ready and the open plan spacious living area meant not once did we feel crowded. The shower was amazing and cleared away all traces of the previous nights drinking!! Everyone also commented on how much they loved the floor tiles - especially the photographer! All in all it was a great place to stay in and get ready

“IT WAS JUST OK, maybe I expected more”

Firstly I must apologise to the owners, I didn't get a chance to raise my issues and say good bye before we left, please note readers these are my personal observations and thoughts !
Warm welcome, found to be clean and easy to find, good directions
Garden - dog friendly, but as guests without a dog, a few colours would be nice otherwise you just look at a fence
Main issue is the bedroom, you sleep with a hoover, bucket and mop and spare bedding, why not put it in a cupboard?
Didn't have a feel of luxury eg bedding a pillows, crockery, glasses etc
Bathroom, toiletries not for single use, shower head needs descaling water goes everywhere but over you ! towels small, wish I had taken my own
Do try the local food pub the Mill, excellent but if you go in the evening, you will need to drive.
In short, nothing like a converted pigsty (my assumption!!) and more like a granny annex, without the granny !

Management Response
Sep 11, 2015
We are really sorry to see that on this occasion we failed to reach your expectations. Especially as you stayed for three nights and we were at hand if you had needed us. If you had voiced your complaints we could have very easily put things right, except of course we couldn't change the fact that there is a fence in the garden, most people say they like it as it gives them privacy, and as you kindly pointed out, it keeps it secure for people with dogs, or indeed small children.
The mop and hoover are indeed behind the door in the bedroom but that is because other guests may want to use them for spillages etc.and there is not a cupboard big enough to house them. However, we would have removed those and the spare quilt on top of the wardrobe had we been asked and I am sorry if they caused you offence. We always provide toiletries for single use on the side of the bath, however these were not used by you.Likewise we provide hand towels, shower towels and bath sheets. I am not aware of any other sizes which I could provide, however, you did not use all the towels. We have also been complimented on the shower and in fact the customer before you said how good it was!
We do not claim to be luxury accomodation. The five stars we have are stars given to us by our visitors because they have all loved the Pigsty. In fact we have been given cards and gifts as thanks on occasions. We aim to give our customers the best holiday that we can. We do this by providing a warm welcome, complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, cupcakes, eggs from our chickens, an information folder, towels and tea towels, toilet rolls, toiletries, kitchen roll, tin foil, cling film, spray oil for cooking and candles for customers use should they wish, an iron and ironing board, a fan for if you are hot, CD's, DVD's,and a large television, as well as board games and books, and we keep everything clean and comfortable.
I do not know what a converted Pigsty should look like but it indeed has been converted from a Pigsty and we make reference to that with pictures and ornaments. Lastly, I would like to say that all the pictures on the Holiday Lettings website show exactly what we are. Nothing has been altered or made to look different, even the fence is in the pictures. Anyone else reading this response...if you do come to stay with us and there is anything not right, please TELL US! There is a leaflet in The Pigsty saying "If you enjoy your stay please leave us a review on trip advisor, if not tell us so we can put things right".

“Superb week at the Pigsty in lovely Lincolnshire”
Reviewed August 27, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a really warm and genuinely friendly welcome from Lindsay and Christine, we also found them very helpful with local information and they could not do enough to help when I created minor problems for myself (car and clothing related).
The cottage was really nice, roomy, comfortable and gave a lot of privacy, ideal for the two of us and superbly located for touring the Wolds, all the Lincolnshire market towns and superb costal resorts in our vintage Austin Seven.
It was great returning in the evenings to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or have a walk down some of the local lanes and pathways, no nasty steep hills here.
Our first time in Lincolnshire, but it won't be the last. Our first thought for accommodation will definitely be The Pigsty.

“Clean, spacious and friendly owners”
Reviewed August 4, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We arrived fairly close to the time we had arranged with the owners and they were there ready to give a warm welcome. They provided us with some fresh eggs from their chickens, scrumptious cup cakes and plenty of tea bags and a fresh milk.
The property was very spacious and had a nice atmosphere. We had our own secluded garden where my daughter and partner decided to spend a couple of nights in their tent!
The dog was well catered for with a nice bed, food and water bowls and doggy treats too. We could take the dog out for a couple of miles along very quiet roads, but mainly footpaths from just outside the property.
The location of the property is less that 15 minutes car ride to Louth where there is an abundance of shops and a market. There is also Hubbards Hills which I can only describe as a woodland park with a river running through it - very nice.
We also did a walk from Walesby to Claxby and then on to Normanby la Wold which is the highest vilage in Lincs.
Our only disapppointment was the lack of tea shops, but fortunately there are some pubs around for refreshment.
