We booked here on a two nights for the price of one break. Good location, pleasant staff, reasonable breakfast, nice bar.

Had I realised that the rooms were in a 1970's type annexe at the back I wouldnt have chosen to stay here, but the main problem for us was the noise. The annex is by a short cut through from the High Street and on a Saturday night and well into the early hours of Sunday morning there was a stream of often noisy people walking past our room from the pubs on the High Street. We even heard a fight outside our window. We didnt stay the second night.

Stayed: November 2006

We stayed at this hotel over the New Year (2 nights), admittedly 3 out of last 4 years and the value is unbeatable, 2 nights B+B, 4 course A La Carte meal in restaurant on the first night and 4-course party night on New Years Eve all for £150. The hotel has good sized rooms with TV, all on-suite again good size, fair sized restaurant serving extremely good food with service to match. There is a coffee lounge, small room with TV and armchairs with a pub fronting part of the hotel. Situated in the heart of Market Harborough which is a smallish market town. The standard of this hotel has not changed over the years, albeit I believe the management have and I could not fault one practise of the hotel. I recommend contacting this hotel for any length of stay and I am sure you will not regret it.

Stayed for a night with my wife between Christmas and New Year. Hotel is set in a nice location just back from the High Street, ample parking available.

Excellent service on the telephone and at check-in. Our room (on the 1st floor) was clean but slightly on the small side. The smell of paint suggested that it was recently decorated. Only complaint about the en-suite was the pressure in the shower (but a minor concern).

Breakfast was disappointing, we arrived 45 minutes before the end of service and the buffet table was disappointingly empty, those that arrived after us had even less to choose from! Our waiter was rather pushy and didn't let us have any time to peruse the menu.

From the website, Three Swans looked like a nice old small hotel. Having had good luck with other Best Western properties, we went ahead and booked. It turns out that the place is a huge complex that includes the quaint old hotel in the front, but with other buildings added on that are less than charming. Our room was on the first floor of one of them, right next to the main driveway. In the middle of the complex, between our building and the main one, is a car repair garage that started up for business pretty early in the morning. Without earplugs, I'd never have slept through the traffic and car repair noises. However, the room was big, clean, and had all the amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. My advice is to make sure to ask for a room away from traffic. The pub and restaurant are typical English and quite nice. Included breakfast was very good.
Location is great -- downtown Market Harborough; a brisk walk from the train station took about 10-15 minutes.

I stayed at the 3 swans for a week on business. The place is charming having served as a coaching inn for hundreds of years. Good food, great city (one of the nicest little towns within an hour train ride from London). The beds are small and hard, high speed internet was only available in the lobby area, not in the rooms. Very clean, very nice location near lots of shopping, food and pubs.

My wife & I booked this hotel by internet in an area of England unfamiliar to us.
The internet photo does not do this hotel justice - its surprisingly quaint with a series of individual buildings surrounding a beer garden type area. It has a good sized car park but I imagine that on fine days it would be jammed.
The hotel is centrally located in Market Harborough which is a medium sized town with pubs, restaurants & shops.
Foxton Locks nearby is worth seeing & its pub serves good meals too.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, its staff pleasant & it serves a good breakfast.
