Description: Our Bistro menu celebrates British food and produce of the South West, making best use of Hobbs House Bakery's handmade bread and wood fired oven. We have a focus on the carefully sourced; everything is bought directly from the producers and cooked with real care and imagination. We put a a strong focus on the traditional cuts of meat from our butchery alongside fish that may have fallen from favour, but lack nothing in flavour. We serve great teas and coffee from local roasters Extract. This is all complemented by a selection of local ales and ciders as well as our comprehensive wine list, put together by Nailsworth-based Raffles Wine. “Delicious 'homemade' food”

What to choose? Such an lovely display of homemade cakes as you walk in to the door, we were a family of four and all had a different cake with coffee all delicious and good coffee. Went back for lunch and enjoyed woodfired pizza and one of the best burgers ever! Staff friendly and accomodating, service a little slow with lunch. Reasonable prices, fame doesnt seem to have affected the 'product', and the brothers and staff remain true to what they do best. Didnt like the cafe decor upstairs, not very imaginative and I would imagine when busy its a bit cramped.

“Lovely burgers and great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

We went to the baker brothers in Nails worth when you walked in the atmosphere was great it was hot and aromatic as they had an open kitchen. They also had a wonderful display of all there cakes. We found the service very good and the waitress was very helpful and knew lots about them and when they come in. The food was lovely the burger is great at £8.50 it came with a choice of sauce such as the baker brothers relish and the gypsy sauce. The burgers where cooked to perfection and the Chips were lovely. We really enjoyed our lunch here and will be visiting again!

“Tasty food and a good atmosphere”

Really enjoyed our recent lunch here. Was a bit overwhelmed with yummy mummys and their posh children but I won't hold that against the cafe!

“Disappointing changes”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

This used to be my favourite restaurant in the Stroud/Nailsworth area but it seems to have lost its charm with a change in layout with additional tables. As a result, it has a much more cluttered feel and the service is slower. I'm not sure if the additional covers has impacted on ordering - when we visited on a Friday evening, 2 of the items of the menu were off - a real problem when there are only three choices per course. One of these was the only vegetarian option - as a result, the vegetarian in the group had a not very nice composite meal. I know that this is a joint enterprise with a butcher but in this day and age, and in this area, not to have a quality vegetarian main course isn't OK. I'm really sad the write this review and hope that things improve but I won't be revisiting.
