We were taken here by my parents to celebrate my mother's 82. When she told us we were going to a fish restaurant in Nailsworth but they didn't take reservations, my wife rather disparagingly confided in me that we were obviously being "treated" to a fish and chip restaurant. Well now she is eating humble pie. From the moment you enter this establishment, which is fresh, light and airy, and pass the beautiful display of fresh fish on sale, to the restaurant at the back, you sense this is a special place. If you are not early you will wait for a table, sometimes for quite a while. The two serving ladies were delightful, mixing efficiency with consideration and humour. The food menu is interesting and not too expensive (but this is not a cheap lunch) and there is a good choice of wine. Seafood is their speciality but they offer non-seafood choices. Not all the choices are always available and whilst this was frustrating, our waitress explained tongue in cheek that she had "eaten it all", which set the tone. Be warned that portions are small so don't be starving. Quality not quantity is the name of the game. I will definitely be back.
