“Eagle-tastic”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Just like a previous reviewer we arrived just as the first flight demo was starting and thought we would only be in here for a few hours. We left just before closing time having had a fantastic day. It's definitely worth staying for all three demo's as they are all so different, the handlers are very informative and come across very well. The burrowing owls are a proper hoot !
The grounds are fantastic and there are loads of different birds of prey to see. The on site café is really nice with some lovely cakes for sale, don't get suckered into giving half of it away(like me) to the doe eyed Labradors though.
All in all a great day out and reasonably priced too, happy days.

So glad you enjoyed your day, we often find people surprised at how easy it is to spend the day with us!
We do love our burrowing owls & they are some of our most popular birds with our guests!

“A very enjoyable morning.”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Today I managed to enjoy the half day owl experience. Helen and Katy were very informative and helpful. The individual owls all had their own distinct personalities. Some of them 3 month old babies. Muggy, the Abyssian (exc spelling) was very vocal when we saw him in his aviary - he carried on throughout the morning. My favourite!. We did not use the café for lunch as we were heading to a pub, but the cakes looked gorgeous. They have tables and benches for picnics. We could have stayedfor the afternoon demonstrations, which will do another time Do not go if you are not a dog lover as they are very much part of the experience. I was disappointed that you could not stroke the owls but do understand their welfare comes first. Only minor gripe no soap in the ladies after handling raw chicken did feel this should be remedied.

Really glad you enjoyed your day, but very sorry to hear that there was no soap when you washed your hands. This is not normally a problem, but we will be sure to keep an eye on it to prevent this happening in the future!
We look forward to seeing you again soon :-)

“Great day out :)”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

We have been many times & as always had a great day. Owner Jemima Parry-Jones & her staff are knowledgeable & so passionate about their work & willing to chat & answer any questions. It was absolutely tipping it down but it didn't matter. We stayed for all 3 flying demos, the first 2 took place in the indoor barn. The staff were apologetic for not being able to fly outside as the birds weren't able to fly as spectacularly but being inside gave us an opportunity to be really close to the birds. The burrowing owl going in & out of the tunnels was delightful & he came right to our feet. The last demo of the day was outside. The flying area is lovely & we saw 4 very different birds swooping over our heads, soaring around the field etc. The café serves lovely homecooked food - we had soup followed by a yummy selection of cakes. We also had a lovely view through the window by the shop of 2 baby owls being fed & weighed. Add in the Labrador dogs including 2 puppies (belonging to the owner) lolloping about the place! Makes for a lovely day out :)

“FABULOUS place :)”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

I visited the birds of prey centre with a student I work with at a special needs college. It was a brilliant day out, the talks were entertaining, informative and interesting. The place was beautiful, we especially enjoyed the owners Labrador puppys bouncing around :). We enjoyed a drink and a lovely slice of cake in the cafe (great value for money too!). Will definitely be visiting again. Amazing place.
