“We shall certainly recommend Waterend Farm to friends”

Waterend Farm, owned by Mrs. Hilary Mann, fully deserves its four-star AA rating. My husband and I returned this September, having been impressed in May by Mrs. Mann's warm welcome, the cleanliness of the accommodation, the excellence of the large cooked breakfast and the comfortable beds. Should this review persuade anyone to stay at Waterend Farm, we would suggest asking Mrs. Mann for her comprehensive directions to her home. Small children will love watching the ponies, sheep and cows in the fields close to the house. Slimbridge WWT with its flamingoes is not far away and is well worth a visit.

Homely welcome and fare on this working farm. The owners are very accommodating and do their best to make your stay comfortable. As I booked early they were able to meet my request for a quiet room away from the motorway, with bath.

I've stayed here on business twice now. I travel a lot on business and my main needs are comfort combined with peace and quiet. This accommodation fits the bill for me, it is a working farm in a quiet location within easy access of the Motorway. Breakfasts are substantial and well cooked - there are also plenty of pubs for the evening meal nearby.
Hillary Mann the owner does a great job of looking after the accommodation and the farm.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful couple of nights at Waterend Farm and really can't compliment our hostess (Hilary Mann) enough in how welcome she made us feel. Waterend Farm is a working sheep farm, and yet Hilary also manages to run a fine B&B with five or six rooms, many of them recently refurbished. We spent a super couple of nights in this very pretty part of England, with a spacious, comfy room and thoroughly enjoying fine cooked breakfasts. All extremely good value too.

The only negative is the closeness to the motorway which unfortunately prevented us from feeling that we had fully escaped to the country, although the double-glazing in the room did totally block out the noise. The motorway does, of course, bring the benefit of easy access.

A top quality, quiet location that is close to the highway and rail. They will even shuttle you to and from the rail station less than 1 km away ( an enjoyable walk ). Friendly owners serving a great breakfast on a working sheep farm. A wonderful experience of rural English country life.
