The exterior if this motel is starting to show its age. Not bad, just to many coats of paint and just getting old.
The room was good enough, a dated AC/heater combo. No good way to set temperature, and of course initially too cold, waken up by stifling heat later.
The thing that stood out to me was the way the blinds looked drawn open even when shut. Although they did work, not confidence building.
There was an in room Coffee pot, but i didn't find it near the entrance, i was used to nearer the sink, and i didn't think to look else where.I was beat when i got to the room and mused it in the dim light.
The breakfast is via a$5 discount at the adjoining restaurant. I did not see this as a plus. At this level, a descent breakfast bar is almost standard. Adding to my bill by an insufficient discount did not impress me.
I just felt everything i saw and did felt cardboard cookie average.
I like this place a lot. It is the second time I have stayed here. It is quite old but it is clean and well run. There are very nice well kept grounds. It is not always easy to find a good place to stay with a pet. This place accomodates both humans and their furry friends. My only suggestion would be for the bathrooms to be updated. It was clean but very old fixtures etc.
We've been here before, and deliberately sought it out for another stay. We had 2 rooms, one for me and one for my adult son and his dog.
Rooms open to the outside (we were on second floor) which is convenient for the dog.
Power strip, yay! Also a comfortable chair/ottoman, lots of pillows, good bed, room and bath clean.
Mexican restaurant onsite, convenient after a long day's travel. They will do takeout and I think room service.
Breakfast set-up unusual; you get a $5 coupon for breakfast in the restaurant. We had excellent breakfasts cooked to order; I was especially impressed with the lovely bowl of fruit I received. You are likely to spend more than $5, but it's better food than the standard motel buffet. (You can't use the coupon for takeout or room service, in our case this meant that we had to take turns with "dogsitting" which was slightly inconvenient.)
