“Great stay for a good price”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

I recently stayed at this premier inn to visit family members close by. The hotel itself is ajoined to a pub (although very spererate) and the food is typical pub grub. There is also an aldi next to it so you can easily grab a snack if need be. The hotel we found was very good value for money, and exactly what you would expect from a premier inn. It can be a little hot in summer but they have provided fans in the room. We found our room was very comfortable, clean and was quiet. Overall a very good stay and we would certainly come back again. The only small thing to complain about, is the cost of the breakfast at £8.25 and no apparant continental option...

Only booking this hotel because I had to catch the morning ferry, I was much surprised by the value for money I got. Th staff was very friendly and seemed to have a positive attitude towards work. As if they know why they do it and not just what they do.
For me this stay is a reason to book myself more often in a Premier Inn than before when I am visiting the UK.

The Premier Inn was adequate and fairly priced but there is nothing much else to say about it. The room was hot and the hotel was quite noisy. It was very close to the port and the staff were good but I don't think it's anything more than a place to rest your head for the night. We would possibly stay there again but also would probably look elsewhere too.

Stayed here one night to catch cruise ship. Room was clean, had hair dryer, a restaurant, and nice personnel. The hotel is a value hotel so room was older, but they kept it nice. For late night arrivals (past 10PM I think), the restaurant is closed and there is no where else to get food that is close. They do have decent vending machines in lobby. They have a nice patio area for gatherings or eating outside or if needed, smoking. Wasn't over priced for what you got and the restaurant food was hot and good. Breakfast was included and it was a large buffet. The cruise terminal is right next to the place, but because of the entrance to the port being on the opposite end, if you have luggage, it is quite a walk. Plus, I don't remember seeing sidewalks. Take a taxi to the port (5 GBP). Fast, easy etc. (They let us on the ship at 11am). Take a walk into the city of Harwich as there are multiple history items to see. Long walk to point, and bus ride back to hotel was only 1 pound 70 - and safe/clean/nice people. Capt of Mayflower lived there; Coast Guard station and an underground fort that I hear is excellent. Talk to Brian the night guard and he will give you lots of interesting history info. NOTE: Took great shuttle (Silver Fleet) to hotel from Heathrow for 59 GBP each. Everyone knows the Inn as there are not many in Harwich. Beautiful country. When leaving port look for the Power Windmills in the ocean out the channel of Harwich. Brian can tell you stories on the building process. Great location and would stay here again.

Room Tip: You can ask for rooms looking over the port. Cruise ship arrives between 3-5 am in the morning, but...

Good location & very clean & comfortable.
It is situated next to Lidl & opposite a retail outlet. Both very handy if you need to get anything.
Although I did not eat at the hotel the restuarant did look very nice & seemed quite busy every evening.
All in all it was a very comfortable & well kept hotel.

Stayed for one night after being transferred from the Colchester Premier Inn. The rooms were extremely spacious and very clean. Staff were courteous. I could not fault it.

Stayed one night (party of 8 adults), it was warm and there is no air conditioning but the hotel provided electric fans in the rooms and also offered sheets instead of duvets if you so wished. Very quiet hotel, and extremely handy for the ferry port, which is only a 5 minute drive. Dinner in the adjoining restaurant was very good, would recommend making a booking as it was very busy.
