“The perfect place for a very comfortable and relaxing break”
Reviewed January 2, 2019 for a stay in December 2018

Nestled in the beautiful Dorset countryside just 30 minutes from the Jurassic Coast and Dorchester, this is the perfect spot to chill out. Loads to do, if you want, including exploring the estate, easy walks to lovely country pubs, and a little further afield to Dorchester, Cerne Abbas, Beaminster, Bridport, Chesil Beach.... the list goes on.
The cottage itself is superbly appointed - from everything you could wish for to enjoy a stress-free luxurious stay. The spacious kitchen is very well equipped, fluffy bathrobes and quality toiletries in the bathrooms, very comfy sofas, and a superb view from the master bedroom, lounge and terrace.
Great hosts, who are at hand if you need anything, but leave you to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
We loved it so much we decided to come back for a second stay within an hour of arriving.
Could not recommend highly enough!

“Simply the best!”
Reviewed September 17, 2018 for a stay in September 2018

Perfect in every respect.......outstanding cottage, spotlessly clean, well appointed and with stunning views. Jonathan and Rosie are so welcoming and friendly and there if you need them but not intrusive in any way. The area is peaceful and ideal if you need to get away from the rat-race.....though a good wifi signal in place if you can't quite leave those work emails alone!

Lots of lovely places to visit nearby, and a welcoming local pub a short walk away, which serves great food. Great land around the cottage to explore, and although there are sheep quietly grazing the surrounding fields, none of the normal noises and smells associated with a working farm.

My wife and I have stayed at many lovely UK properties of this nature, but Goose Farm is the first one that we have vowed to return to.....we would have extended our week stay if there were not already a booking following us. And now planning a long weekend return visit in a couple of months, and another week next year.

Simon thanks for this amazing review. Very glad to hear that you will be back and as a returning guest you will be entitled to special deals and offers. The first week in May is stunning in our bluebell and wild garlic wood and our lambs will be just a month old, very cute and jumping about all over the place.

“Perfect relaxing base to explore best of Dorset”
Reviewed August 31, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

If you are looking for a wonderfully blissful, relaxing, high quality home from home, then this is the place for you. Our family of four (toddler and baby included) found this place perfect for us to go and explore Dorset. The whole place is well thought out, which allows one to either use this house as a base to explore Dorset or simply go nowhere and enjoy the Dorset countryside on one's doorstep. The kitchen and living room are suitably resourced and the bedrooms spacious with amazing views. The hosts provide the perfect balance between making sure you have a wonderful stay by providing information and suggestions as well as allowing one to have privacy and enjoy the location's beauty. We will definitely be back to Goose Run Cottage.

Thanks so much for this brilliant review and remember our returning guests and their friends and families automatically qualify for all sorts of deals and offers. We've had guests with older children but you were our first proper young family with two beautiful little ones, an infant and a toddler. So it's great to hear the the cottage worked out well despite it being on three levels. Please come back to this peaceful valley in the rolling hills of West Dorset. You will be most welcome.

“Peaceful Retreat”
Reviewed August 15, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Goose Run Cottage. Everything was perfect. The views from the cottage are outstanding and the calmness of the whole area is so refreshing.
The cottage is well equipped and so comfortable, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean.
A relaxing stay, and one to remember

“stunning cottage in an idyllic location”
Reviewed August 13, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

Goose Run Cottage is set in a beautiful rural location, tranquil and peaceful but not very far from things to do and places to see. Jonathan & Rosie are excellent hosts. They keep you informed about your booking and they are more than happy to help with any queries you may have. They even made us dinner reservations at one of their favourite pubs for the evening we arrived so we didn't have to worry about where to eat, especially as we didn't know the area. You are made to feel very welcome and are free to explore the whole Estate during your stay.
The Cottage has all the amenities you might need on a holiday but with the added touch of luxury and comfort which is often lacking in other properties. For example bathrobes, towels, complimentary toiletries but also the essentials that you need when you stay in a rented cottage but often forget to bring or don't want to buy, such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, decent cutlery and utensils as well as the elusive corkscrew!
We had a thoroughly relaxing time and would love to visit again sometime. Thank you for making our stay in Dorset a truely memorable one.

“Perfect quiet location for unwinding away from the pace of modern life”
Reviewed July 30, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

The Mrs and I stayed here for three nights in June. We wanted quiet, countryside, dark skies, walk to the pub, grounds to walk in without having to take the car. We got all of these in Goose Run Cottage. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Jonathan and Rosie are perfect hosts, there if you need them, but you're left alone if you don't to just get on with unwinding and chilling. We will definitely be back, soon hopefully.

“Beautiful cottage in stunning setting”

We stayed at Goose Run cottage for a long weekend & it is a perfect location if you want some tranquillity in a stunning location. The cottage is set on the side of the hill overlooking a small lake.
The hosts Jonathan & Rosie have designed & built a two-bed cottage that blends into the landscape but incorporates all the modern facilities that you would want. The cottage is easy to find the introduction email you receive about a week before gives you very precise directions. Access to the building is easy when we arrived there was a welcome bottle of wine & locally baked ginger cake.
The kitchen has all the facilities you will need. We cooked a couple of times & made full use of everything, but there are many options locally if you want to eat out. The master bedroom has splendid views over the lake, the bed was very comfortable & the en-suite well appointed.
The second bedroom is smaller with an en-suite shower & toilet. We stayed in the recent heatwave, but the interior stayed cool thanks to the thick stone walls.
You can walk around all the grounds. There are sheep which belong to the hosts, but they are friendly & will run off if you walk up to them. In addition, there are two alpaca’s which apparently keep the foxes away during lambing. They look mean but will also keep their distance. You can walk to the Fox Inn which is the local pub by walking past the lake & up the other side of the hill. Through the gate making sure you close it behind you & follow the bridal path for about 15 mins. This brings you out in Corscombe & the pub is right there. The staff are very friendly & you can eat here. If the weather is good you can sit across the road on the green & you will get the utter the words ‘why did the chicken cross the road’
We can’t recommend Goose Run Cottage enough & will be looking to return as soon as we can.
