“Weekend stay ”

Both my partner and I stayed at the crown over night on Friday 11th October - we actually live in Blandford but have always wanted to stay. The welcome was warm - the honeymoon suite amazing and food fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The room has a roll top bath and the suite looks over the front of the house. Lovely. Thanks all. M & L

We had a small dog but were made very welcome in the lounge for afternoon tea, though busy no one minded about the dog, in fact there was a family who too had a dog the same breed.
The scones were lovely and the staff were friendly bringing a massive water bowl for the dog.
would certainly recommend and go back.

We stayed here on 5th October for one night due to us visiting the beer festival at the Hall and Woodhouse brewery which was only a 5 minute walk away. We had room 24 which was the double executive/honeymoon room. The decor was lovely and the bed and pillows very comfortable. There was a roll top bath in the corner and an en suite shower room with all toiletries provided. There was a flat screen television, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and board. We found it to be very comfortable with a nice view overlooking the garden's. Free parking in the hotel carpark.

A very good selection was offered for breakfast, including cereals, juices, english breakfast, toast, a continental selection including meats, cheeses, pastries, muffins, fresh fruit, fresh honeycomb, jams, tea and coffee.

Blandford Forum is a lovely place to have a walk around the many little shops and market, had a really enjoyable stay.

Kind regards
Baslady

Room Tip: Room 24 very comfortable and nice view.

Had snack lunch after shopping on Saturday. Hotel getting slightly tatty which is surprising as it should be a Hall & Woodhouse show piece so close to Brewery. Fine old building. Staff civil & pleasant if a little disorganised. Bar does not seem sure whether it is a pub or cafe restaurant. Preparing fancy coffees takes them an age when you are gasping for a pint. Food came quickly after order which we chose to take out side in ther large terrace outside. Have snacked inside before which is quite satisfactory in large lounges. Enjoyed seeing a wedding party in Hotel's private garden.Good selection of wines by the glass. Meal reasonably priced. Quite civilised. Restaurant looked very quiet for a lunch so that may lack atmosphere.

This hotel was the venue for a two day training course I attended. I stayed overnight in the hotel.

Professional, friendly staff who provided great customer service. Always acknowledged customers with a polite smile and greeting. Nothing was too much trouble.

The food was wonderful; breakfast, lunch and diner! Presentation, flavour and quantity were of the highest standard.

Room 18 seemed a little tired with a carpet that needed a deep clean, a cracked sign in the bathroom and furniture which needed a spruce-up.

My son and daughter in law held their wedding at the Crown Hotel very recently. We had the accessible bedroom which was the nicest room of this sort that we have ever had. We had a meal in the dining room on arrival which was absolutely lovely. It's perhaps a little more expensive than some pubs but was well worth the money. The whole wedding was excellent. Robert and his team were unfailingly pleasant, efficient and hard working. They couldn't do enough. The wedding meal was wonderful. All served quickly and efficiently. The room rate included a great choice of well cooked breakfast, again served by happy staff. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking car park are quieter.

stayed just the one night here but that was all that I needed to see that the hotel is excellent. The service was very friendly and personal, my room was lovely and unique, and lastly the food was delicious.
