“A Very Special Place”
Reviewed November 28, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Anyone who knows Lyme Regis will be familiar with this 4 storey Arts and Crafts house known as The Sundial, situated on Marine Parade, as near to the sea as it's possible to be. We were 6 in number, ranging from 90 to 30 years of age.
If you'd like to stay in a house of historical interest with uninterrupted views of the sea and the Cobb from most rooms - not forgetting the balcony where we sat in the sun and sipped a few glasses, even in November - then this place is a gem.
The house is efficiently centrally heated, with cosy sitting areas and best of all, we were lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the waves. A truly magical experience.

“Amazing house in amazing location!”
Reviewed September 21, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This was a great place to escape to for a relaxing weekend. We are a group of 7 who's children are gradually flying the nest and we've talked about a weekend away together in Lyme Regis for a long time.
The Sundial was a last minute booking for us and we were not disappointed. The house and location went above and beyond our expectations. The amazing character of the house, the AGA, the beautiful views from the windows, the sound of the waves gently washing over the pebbles as you lie in bed, the harvest moon setting on the water in the evening, the early morning swims......perfect!

“lovely, quirky house in the most fabulous position”
Reviewed July 13, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A very special house in the most wonderful location. We had a lovely weekend. Waking up to the sound of the waves on the shore was perfect. The views are spectacular. The house is very comfortable. Old fashioned bathrooms and lots of stairs, but they only add to its quirky charm. Beds very comfortable, living areas lovely, kitchen well equipped and dining room is great with a lovely view of the ocean. Mark was very easy to deal with and very helpful. Would highly recommend this house.

“Gorgeous heritage house in A1 location, well worth the outlay”
Reviewed May 22, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Unique historic residence right on the front at Lyme, well-appointed, warm, plenty of bedroom options, plenty of bathrooms, great kitchen with top equipment and everything provided. Being where it is (right on the beach) you gotta park elsewhere, but dropping off gear and old people is easy. The owner has sorted parking passes. Lyme is a great holiday town and the Jurassic Coast provides endless fun for outdoor people. The Sundial is so remarkable that on a sunny day the poor saps not staying in a a Grade Two listed holiday house gather to point, take photos and look enviously as you enjoy your coffee and pastries on the terrace with staggering views over the bay and the Cobb. Helpful owner, no unnecessary rules and regs, bring your walking boots, your swimmers and your fossicking hammer.

“Impressive building in unbeatable location”
Reviewed September 7, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This is a beautiful house which has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The kitchen was particularly well equipped with good quality utensils etc. the position of the house on marine parade was so useful with young children and all the bits and pieces you take with you for a day at the beach. We took the bare minimum and just popped back to the house when we needed to. Friends had hired a beach hut on previous visits but this was even better. The owners had even very thoughtfully left some buckets, spaces and nets for us to use. The views from the property were beautiful. Eating breakfast sat watching the waves was a al treat. There is also a small patio area at the front of the property which meant we could sit with a glass of wine after the kids had good to bed. All round a lovely property in a lively family friendly place.
