We were here in May and made to feel very welcome as always. Linda and Audrey were as lovely as ever. Ate here 3 times, food was hot and plentiful, Scampi,, steak and chilli to name but a few. Will be back next year.

We have been visiting Lyme Regis for a number of years and have eaten at the Pilot boat many times. The pub is clean and bright and the menu is typical of a seaside pub. The portions are large but the food is pricey and not as fresh as it might be. Some of the dishes such as the leek mushroom and chestnut pie appear have been reheated in a microwave and hence are not very appetising. Even a burger was not well-prepared and not of their usual high standard.
The staff are friendly and provide a very good service. However, I was not impressed to see the kitchen porter tidying the kitchen and utensils in jeans and teeshirt ie not wearing clean whites or other appropriate kitchen wear - not hygenic

Good pub, palmers prices though so beware. Good menu selection. We're planning to eat here however the night before we wanted to come in we thought we'd just stop by for a drink.....
There was a ball being thrown around the pub and a dog chasing it who was literally jumping all over the tables and chairs. Was mortified that this was allowed to happen. Couldn't actually believe that this dog was allowed on the furniture of the restaurant. Totally disgusting behaviour and put me off ever wanting to eat there ever.

We have been visiting Lyme for over thirty years ( B&B staying for 29 years) and we have never eaten anywhere else. Why would we, when we have always had good meals there? We would visit Lyme several times a year at one time (of late, it has been less frequent, hopefully that will change in the future) and would never dream of eating elsewhere.

We have just spent three days down in Lyme Regis and eaten at the Pilot Boat Inn each day. Suffice to say .... several good pints; three good mains and desserts later and we can safely say that the Pilot Boat Inn is still keeping up its standards. We often look back and congratulate the place for being a front-runner in offering a non-smoking eating area ... certainly an insight that we appreciated back in the 'bygone days' :-)

It was lovely seeing Linda again during this past week .... she always remembers us - we were her first customers on her first day working there many years ago - on a dark, cold February evening. Once seen, never forgotten - eh, Linda?

Anyway, we look forward to visiting the Pilot Boat Inn again as soon as it is possible. Many thanks for remaining consistent for all these years.

Visited here twice. Great portions, especially good Cod n chips. One suggestion mushy or garden peas as an optional add on.
