Lovely hotel set in a beautiful location. Easy to find. Nice warm, comfortable room. Lovely large doube bed (singles joined together), fresh towels when needed, view of garden from window and nice and quiet! My dogs were very happy here, and because it was quiet they settled in well. The bar area was relaxing, we could take the dogs with us, and the risotto I had was very pleasant. Breakfasts were great, plenty of choice and the staff were polite and friendly, clearly well trained in customer service. Convenient for walking the dogs early morning/ late evening. Easy parking. Smart bathroom, although the floor became wet after showering no matter how careful you were. Plenty of hot water. I would recommend a stay and hope to return.

Room Tip: Great for dog owners.

Visited the Moorland Garden last night for a 70th birthday party and ate in the restaurant. The food, service and general ambience were all absolutely faultless. Like other people who have written reviews, we have very fond memories of the old Moorland Links Hotel; our wedding reception was held here and we were very sad when the place went downhill after changing hands. It is so lovely to see it restored to its former high standards. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely evening.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the attention to detail perfect. The public areas and the bedrooms are comfortable and decorated to a high standard.
The evening meal was excellent with a good choice on the menu and the breakfast set us up for a lovely walk on the moor.
A perfect relaxing and enjoyable short break. Highly recommended.

The rooms are clean and individually decorated to a high standard and the beds.....unbelievably comfortable!!
Highly recommend, we look forward to returning in the near future !

We have just enjoyed our third New Year's Eve package at the hotel and things just get better and better. Our friends and ourselves had a wonderful two day break enjoying excellent food and accommodation. The staff were very attentive and capable - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. The Gala Dinner was good but the food on our second night was exceptional. The fact that we've been three times says it all. We will return.

Room Tip: Would recommend the premier rooms at a little extra cost.

very friendly and obliging staff. Clean well equipped room inc trouser press tea tray free wi-fi, freeview etc. Good selection of draft beer (very important) several wines by the glass, great prawn cocktail (not mucked about with) and even better fish and chips. Breakfast in the main dining room. Good views proper table with decent linen, cutlery etc. Food freshly cooked, good coffee and very quick. Ok they were not busy but it all felt very efficient. Friendly and fast checkout including a weather forecast. Will stay there again without hesitation because unlike many hotels it felt very 'comfortable'

Room Tip: Balcony rooms quiet spacious and great views from, wait for it ..... The balcony ! Would be delight...

Fantastic location with moor literally on the doorstep. Comfy and cosy lounge/bar with semi formal restaurant with great a la carte menu. Have stayed several times with my 2 dogs and has been ideal for walking. Standard rooms little tired, but was upgraded to larger room on last visit which had a makeover since new owners took over. Plan to make another visit quite soon.

Room Tip: All rooms ok, but larger ones have best view. Most look out onto the garden.
