Three weary travellers stopped off here on the basis of the TripAdvisor rating. We got there at 3.50pm, not realising they closed at 4pm, however the owner still served us three freshly prepared, delicious meals. We had a Caesar salad, salmon salad and pasta dish, and they were scrumptious. My daughter commented that she didn't like the pasta, she loved it! We didn't feel at all rushed or pressured to leave, and the owner was friendly, chatty and helpful. All in all an absolutely delightful find and the TripAdvisor award is much deserved.

Lived near by for a number of years now, and didn't know this place existed. Its off the high street, but worth seeking out...
Was going to use our usual café chain coffee shop on the high street for our Saturday morning cup of coffee stop, with the 3 year old little lady... but we decided to pop in Zest Café instead.
We like our coffee time whilst the eldest goes to gymnastics... on arrival it was already busy, but we managed to squeeze inside (be aware those with mobility issues it has a large step), there are some nice tables outside in the arcade undercover (many sheltering from the rain)
You can order at the counter or the friendly staff will come to your table... lovely latte for me, a huge chocolate milkshake for madam, and a equally huge piece of chocolate cake (enough for two to share... but not with my daughter!) If not homemade on site, they definitely buy it from a small independent bakery, not mass produced... and looked really nice.
A real positive, the toilets (gents anyway) are easily accessible (no step to these), and must have been designed for disabled/chair access too as they are lovely and spacious, not only that they were spotlessly clean!
Will definitely be using this place again!

We were recommended Zest by the owners of the nearby Fountain Antiques Centre, and we weren't disappointed. We had four 'mains' (hate that phrase), two teas and two milkshakes for our 14 and 11 year-old children, the total bill being £39 approx. The food was EXCELLENT, service polite and prompt. As the children were a little overshelmed by their (adult) portions we got to samples theirs as well as ours - the fish and chips was nice as was the penne pasta in tomato and chilli sauce. Thoroughly recommended and I'm glad other reviewers feel the same way.

We visited Zest today, the food was excellent, the wine was priced reasonably and the service outstanding. Apart from this the place was bright and extremely clean. The toilets were spotless. We will certainly make the short trip from Exeter again if only to sample the delights of this Cafe. The best cafe for miles around, well done Cafe Zest, and your ham, eggs and bubble & squeak was delicious.
