“Little Gem”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

I live on Honiton and never went in mainly due to the smokers outside however I put my feelings to one side and went in during the evening and was really impressed with the atmosphere, staff, food and it was on my doorstep! Prices were a little high but not enough to worry about and the happy hour drinks offset this anyway. Try this place and enjoy.

“A lovely evening out”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Beautiful food, friendly staff, great ambience. Having been put off by another wine bar with a tattooed man smoking outside the door, I went to the Honiton Wine Bar. There were people having a drink at the pavement tables and there was also a really nice atmosphere inside, Yes, it took a while for the food to arrive but only because it was properly cooked from scratch. At one table, the waitress offered olives and bread as an appetiser while they waited for their food. She then noticed that I was on my own and offered my a paper to read. A very personal service when, quite often, a solo diner can be left feeling less than welcome. Well done!

Good food. Good wine. Excellent menu.Great ambiance. Host is attentive but they sometimes have a slow service and the waitresses, as nice as they are, seem to forget the basics.

“Steak Night”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

The Wine Bar is cosy and atmospheric, serving a good range of locally sourced food. On certain evenings they highlight foods such as curry and steak. Thursday is 'Steak Night' ! We all had rib-eye steaks and they were cooked to our specifications, medium or rare.
The staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. It is advisable to book as it does get very busy, particularly on special nights. The 'Happy Hour' for wine and beer is very good value. However, they only stock one real ale, Otter bitter. Because the venue is small and busy it can get a little noisy.

“Best steak I`ve ever eaten!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

That was my daughter`s verdict as she ate through everything on her plate (very rare achievement for her!) Do not be put off by the hairy bikers sitting outside this place, they`re friendly enough and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The Honiton Wine Bar is down to earth and relaxed, the choice of music very much to our taste and the food is absolutely fantastic, beautifully presented, generous portions without being ridiculous, better quality than we have paid a much heftier price for in some high class restaurants!
