Visited here 28th Feb 2013 and 1st March 2013 as we stayed in a B&B within walking distance. The menu was extensive and interesting with something to suit all tastes. The first night I had chicken, leek and ham pie which was amazing, the side dish of shredded parsnips was wonderful. This was rounded off with Chocolate brownies and a nice bottle of wine. I thought this was reasonable priced for the quality of the food supplied. It was very quite on this first night.
Round 2! We don't often go back to the same place twice, but knew there were several other dishes on the menu we would love to try. Pork tenderloin with sauteed potatoes was as good as I had hoped, although the side of red cabbage was not really to my taste. Much busier and fairly noisy when a large group arrived by mini bus, but once they were seated in the restaurant area they were barely audible. All this with really nice music and a roaring fire made this a pub to recommend.
