“2 nights in a row and both equally as good”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Visited here 28th Feb 2013 and 1st March 2013 as we stayed in a B&B within walking distance. The menu was extensive and interesting with something to suit all tastes. The first night I had chicken, leek and ham pie which was amazing, the side dish of shredded parsnips was wonderful. This was rounded off with Chocolate brownies and a nice bottle of wine. I thought this was reasonable priced for the quality of the food supplied. It was very quite on this first night.

Round 2! We don't often go back to the same place twice, but knew there were several other dishes on the menu we would love to try. Pork tenderloin with sauteed potatoes was as good as I had hoped, although the side of red cabbage was not really to my taste. Much busier and fairly noisy when a large group arrived by mini bus, but once they were seated in the restaurant area they were barely audible. All this with really nice music and a roaring fire made this a pub to recommend.

“Slow and overpriced”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We live fairly locally to this and we went there to meet family who were on their way to Cornwall. The menu was ok, but the prices are too high and the service was so slow. We had to wait for an hour for the food and the place was not that busy. I certainly wouldn't go there in the summer if it is busy. The chicken caesar salad was covered in greasy slimey dressing and made me feel really sick. The chicken was warm but it was tough. My daughter had the chicken and leek pie and she ate the pastry as the rest of it was not very nice. I wouldn't bother going again. There are plenty of other pubs in the area to try.

“A Rare Gem!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Fantastic food which has been given proper thought into how to make it stand out from the usual pub fayre. The staff are also fully aware of gluten free cooking, which is a rarety, and the gluten free food is not simply an ordinary meal minus some bits. A very warm atmosphere from lovely staff. We take friends there for a treat when we can!

“Welcome break”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Travelling down the A303 and in need of a break with good food, we found the Flintlock Inn. It's a proper country inn with an extensive menu, a locally brewed ale and a welcoming host. The meal we had was very tasty and to be recommended. We will be making this a regular stop on our trips to Cornwall
