A unique little find. We discovered this farm through the farm stay website and it didn't fail to deliver. Having a 4 year old boy we are always worried if the accommodation we book will keep him entertained. On this occasion there was no need to worry as there were so many things to dip into. A games room with; air hockey, table tennis, table football, dressing up chest, videos and toys galore, an indoor swimming pool, a selection of outdoor play houses (great for playing shops) two outdoor play areas, one with a combine harvester and the other with a tractor, trampoline and climbing frame. Add to this, animal feeding time that takes place at 8.30 every morning where our little boy was able to feed the pigs, hold guinea pigs and ducklings, check for eggs in the chicken house and take a sheep for a walk around the farmyard.
Location wise the farm is ideally placed. Situated in the middle of the countryside with great views over Cornish hills. It's only a short drive from Padstow and gives you easy access to the towns facilities, the camel trail and camel creak adventure park.
I stayed with my wife and 2 children, aged 6 and 4. Melanie was showed us round the farm as soon as we arrived and was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We stayed in Serendipity. 2 bedrooms with an open plan living room and kitchen which was perfect. We arrived to a wet and windy Cornwall (the only bad weather of the week), however the swimming pool (in a converted barn) offered an escape from the rain and the kids loved it. We spent the rest of the week outside! Animal feeding and sheep walking each morning from 8.30am until about 9.30am / 10am. The kids play areas are excellent which was the next part of our daily routine. They include a big trampoline, new basket swing and wooden house with slide in the top field. They play area next to the swimming pool has a big playhouse, combined harvester and a range of other toys. We then headed out to explore Cornwall. Great local attractions include the Camel Trail (a flat 5 mile bike ride between Wadebridge and Padstow with loads of local bike hire shops are available), Padstow harbor, Trevone Beach, Cardinham Woods and Bodmin Wenford Steam railway.
There is a great pub at the top of the road, 10 minutes walk from the farm. It has a large outdoor kids play area and great views of the camel estuary.
We had a great week and Trevorrick Farm and i would highly recommend it for a family stay. The kids are still asking to see "Farmer Melanie" and the animals!
We stayed for 2 weeks in Badger's Way cottage. It was spotlessly clean with everything you could need. The location was perfect, central to many beaches and day's out and very close to Padstow. We walked there with our 4.5 year old and also biked the Cale Trail. Melanie and Mike were perfect hosts. Melanie is beautifully kooky and wonderful with children. Her humour made the adults laugh too. She was on hand all the time for anything you may need. The pool will be updated next year apparently but the water was clean and warm and there were plenty of play things and toys for the children.
We fed the animals each morning which was lovely to socialise with other family's.
It was the perfect 2 weeks! Well recommended!
Excellent stay. It's all been said in the reviews you've probably already read. Melanie + Mike are the perfect hosts. This is a great fun place to stay for a week or 2 in N. Cornwall near Padstow. Especially if you have a younger child or 2. We left very much more relaxed than when we arrived. Beautiful scenery, animals to feed, a warm pool to swim in, pub and Tescos close by. Book at least 6 months in advance.
We would recommend the Credis Cottage / Caravan to stay in. The views are great and this permanent mobile home type structure has all that you need to enjoy yourselves - for a couple with a child. And it's a bit cheaper. With the privacy and views, I don't think it can be beaten.
We had such a lovely time at Trevorrick with our six-month-old baby girl. We stayed at the Old Round House which was surrounded by fields, with beautiful views of the sunset. The cottage was clean, comfortable and kitted out with everything we needed for the baby, including lots of toys.
The 8.30am animal feeding was such a treat, the pigs and goslings were our favourites. And the location, just a couple of miles out of Padstow, was great - we walked into town along the Camel Trail and it was stunning.
Thanks Melanie and Mike for being such wonderful hosts, we hope to stay here again one day.
We had a wonderful time at Trevorrick farm, our daughter Eva (age 3) is still talking about the animals and the swimming pool and all the experiences we had during our stay at the start of May.
Melanie and Mike are so warm and welcoming and have the balance just right between involving you in the farms daily activities and leaving you to explore for yourself.
We stayed in Owls roost, such a lovey cottage, spotlessly clean and it had everything we needed including age appropriate toys for Eva.
The location is brilliant, so close to Padstow, easily walkable along the Camel trail and Wadebridge is only 10 mins in the car for groceries etc
We had high hopes when we read all the lovely reviews before booking and we were not disappointed, we will definitely visit Trevorrick again we have such wonderful memories of this holiday it was great fun, relaxing, and a wonderful experience.
This is the second year we have stayed at Trevorrick. This is a perfect place to stay with young families. The cottages are great, clean and a home from home. Melanie and Mike provide things like cots, toys (age appropriate), high chairs. Also the 830am feeding the farm animals is a great experience. The farm is near to Padstow and the major roads so its easier to travel to a range of locations by car. The Tescos is down the road for a major shops and also lovely beaches not far by car. The Camel trail is nearby so a great walk into Padstow. Overall I couldn't recommend it any more highly and you get such great friendly and caring service from Melanie and Mike. So do support this great business.
