A brilliant place to visit regardless of what you want to do, surf, learn to surf, picnic, walk or just sit in the sun (optional!).
There is parking on the beach (£4.00 a day) and a cafe pub accross the road

The parking is £2.50 but you get just yards from the sandy beach and the surf. The Atlantic wind can be a bit much and the fine sand can force sunglasses on a dull day!

Firstly, this is not a criticism of Harlyn Bay beach, which is beautiful. My wife and I have been holidaying in the area for about twelve years. In the past we used to walk from Mother Ivey's along Harlyn beach and have a drink and something to eat from the van parked above the beach. We are both disabled and no longer physically able to walk that distance. For the past couple of years we have been deterred from parking at Harlyn Bay by the parking charge of £4 per day because we only want to park for an hour at most and the parking costs nearly as much as the refreshments. I am surprised that the attendant does not wear a mask, carry two pistols and ride a horse called Black Bess!

As a Charted Accountant I would like to point out to the owner that, if the charge to park on a bit of sand was (say) £2, the owner would probably have received £14 from us during the week instead of absolutely nothing. I would guess that numerous holiday makers think the same as us. I would hazard a guess that 'Food for Thought', the owners of the refreshment van, are also suffering because of the parking charge.

Went to this beach while riding via Tina's stables. What a lovely experience both with the horse and without. It's a lovely beach, quiet, tidy and clean and clearly well looked after.
