“Wonderful home from home holiday and complete rest”
Reviewed February 17, 2012

Emma made us feel part of the family at her wonderful large bedsit bed and breakfast. it was a huge room with lots of extras and a lovely bathroom facilities. The room was very clean and the extra large bed so comfortable. The garden area for sitting with a bottle of wine on a hot summers evening is just what you want on holiday. Having your own car parking facility is great and with tesco a two minute walk away what more can you ask for. The breakfast was excellent and the fresh fruit salad can never be matched. Nothing was too much trouble for Emma and we felt so at home, will be going back. Just on the edge of Padstow also makes it ideal for travelling around Cornwall which is always so beautiful. This B&B is run by Emma who is welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This was our second stay and Emma welcomed us back like friends. There is onsite parking, which is a real bonus in Padstow. Although this is a B&B you have your own entrance, lovely shower and bathroom facilities done up to a very high standard. The room is laid out with your own dining table, seating area & bed. A little fridge to keep milk cold if you require. Breakfast is out of this world with a choice that would rival some of the big hotels. Will definitely be staying here again when we visit friends in Padstow.

I was pleasantly surprised by this guest house gem. It is located opposite a Tesco supermarket and is approximately a 15-20 minute walk into the town.

We were greeted by Emma and her beautiful burmese cats. The cats are not usually allowed in the room whilst guests are there but as a cat lover they were allowed to stay with us for a while in the morning and evening. Emma is very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to accommodate.

There is only one guest bedroom in the house and it is beautifully furnished. You can enter and exit your room from your own front door so you do not have to intrude upon the rest of the house. The room is spacious and has a dining table for breakfast in the morning. The shower in the bathroom is really lovely.

There is a great selection to choose from at breakfast. You make your order the night before and your needs are met the following morning.

Overall in the many years I have spent going to Padstow on holiday, this is the best B+B that I have stayed in within the area.

We visited Arum House in July and were very impressed by the large ensuite room with its own front door , patio and parking (which is a premium in Padstow0. Emma was lovely and accommodated our need for a "breakfast to go" so we could get an early start to hiking. The large comfy bed and small fridge ensured a great visit. Although the accommodation is on a hill it was only a 10 minute walk to Padstow centre.

We had an excellent stay at Arum and were well looked after by Emma who is a friendly and welcoming host. The room is large and comfortable and well equipped and looks much better up close than in photos! The bathroom is clean and spacious and has an amazing shower. We had use of the outside patio but unfortunately the weather was not really up to using it. Breakfast was excellent and set us up nicely for our days by the beach or cycling around the area.

The B&B is located up the hill a short walk from the centre of Padstow, and is very easy to locate. It is off the main road but there is no noise at night and we had a very cosy and relaxing stay here - it was very difficult to mobilise the day after we arrived as the bed was huge and too comfortable for two tired cyclists! If we are back in Padstow we will definitely stay again.

Arum House was easy to find, being opposite the school and across the road from Tesco as you come into the town. It is not in the old town, but it is not far to walk, although coming back it is up-hill! Emma, who runs it, only rents out one room, and it is a very nice large room - comfortable, clean and with what is obviously a new, and state of the art, shower room. Emma told us she is a vetinary nurse by training, and she is happy to accept pets. This isn't the most professionally run B&B I have stayed in, but Emma was so friendly and so willing to do whatever she could to make our stay comfortable that we have no hesitation in recommending it.
