“Like being on a 1970s cruise ship!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Imagine sitting on a table surrounding a dance floor with a muzak-man at the centre on an electronic keyboard. Now imagine a menu of over-hyped food which excels in quantity rather than quality. The over-enthusiastic staff will try their best to convince you that its better than it really is, you know you can eat better at Rick Stein's Café for not much more but that's half an hour away down miles of windey, Cornish, single-track lanes. You're trapped and you know it, so tuck-in and remember to opt for the take-away pizza tomorrow...

We are always happy to advise guests on the coolest, hippest places to go in Cornwall while ourselves offering a wide variety of dining options, all freshly prepared using local and our own produce, served in relaxing surroundings, with entertainment each night, including an excellent local four piece band three nights a week. Feedback from our guests suggests that they prefer to take advantage of our various opions, including a la carte, and buffet and curry nights. although of course our take-away pizzas can be recommended.

“cream tea saved our lives”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We were slogging along the St. Breock Downs on the Saints Way, having not seen food or a bathroom for miles and miles on a very hot day, when we came to Hustyns. We walked in and were welcomed despite our bedraggled state. In the brasserie, we used the bathrooms and first shared iced teas, then decided to indulge in a wonderful cream tea -- best we've had in Cornwall. Our waitress was wonderful and the barman was also very helpful. We have no idea what the rest of the offerings are, but we can recommend this place without reservation.

“Try it!”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

My Husband and I had breakfast free with the promotion presentation and we were impressed for what you could have for £9.95 per person. We had breakfast again the next morning which kept us going all day. On the Saturday night we tried the A Alcarte menu which I must say was one of the best meals out I have had for a long time. We both had 3 courses and 1 glass of wine and it was £54.00. And ate in the brasserie Sunday night. The main reason we ate in hotel was neither of us would have to drive to find somewhere to eat. Do enough driving during the day.
