Arrived early evening on a Sunday in January and had a couple of drinks before we decided to order food. Bar staff very helpfull with wine selection and a very good selections of real ales. My partner and I had both decided to order fish and chips as we were in Cornwall and it being known for fish. However !!!! no fish available this was about 18.00 into the evening. Not what we expected. As we finished our drinks and decided what to have instead a family group went up to order food and they were having a hard time ordering as again nothing appeared to be available. There was a specials board with a number of appealing curries but there were only limited numbers of each available. Not a good impression. Don't serve food if you only have 50% of the menu available. We left and went to an alternative place. Later the family arrived where we were and ordered with greater success too.

Walked the Camel Trail from Padstow with our dogs and stopped here for lunch.. Both of us had lunch specials, me having Roast Beef and hubby having Fish and Chips... Both were excellent and we demolished both... Great to be able to take the Labradors in, they excepted any well behaved dogs... Proof of the pudding... Would we eat here again... YES :-)

Have eaten a few times in The Swan, we went back mainly because the veggie brekkie was so nice last time. However this time it was only just warm, toast was stone cold. We also ordered the pie of the day, and at £10 it should've been great, instead it was dry, chicken & ham chunks were like bullets. The pastry was burnt in places, but due to it being microwaved it was also rubbery, and the chips were hard. Also I know that pubs are mainly for alcohol, but the "eye rolling" and sighing of the bar tender when ordering coffee was obvious!. It was a shame as we usually get much better in the Swan.

Have eaten here many times with children and dog in tow. The menu is extensive with lots of tasty dishes on offer. The Sunday Carvery has a very distinct home cooked taste, with plenty of delicious vegetable accompaniments to choose from, also very reasonably priced at £5.95, as is the general menu.

Went to this pub en-route back to our holiday cottage after a day travelling down the coast. Food was mainly average apart form the whole lemon sole and crayfish which was off the specials menu had by one family member, this was exceptionally nice. The Steak and ale pies were very obviously microwaved - soggy pastry but quite nice filling and an ok size portion, not as good as elsewhere we have tried this week.and could have done with some gravy. Pasty and chips was quite small. OK for the money I guess but don't go out of your way to try this place. The menu boasted 'fine dining' in the Cygnet resturant but I have no knowledge of what this is like.
