“Relaxed, family and dog friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Have eaten here many times with children and dog in tow. The menu is extensive with lots of tasty dishes on offer. The Sunday Carvery has a very distinct home cooked taste, with plenty of delicious vegetable accompaniments to choose from, also very reasonably priced at £5.95, as is the general menu.

“Pub grub...........”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012

Went to this pub en-route back to our holiday cottage after a day travelling down the coast. Food was mainly average apart form the whole lemon sole and crayfish which was off the specials menu had by one family member, this was exceptionally nice. The Steak and ale pies were very obviously microwaved - soggy pastry but quite nice filling and an ok size portion, not as good as elsewhere we have tried this week.and could have done with some gravy. Pasty and chips was quite small. OK for the money I guess but don't go out of your way to try this place. The menu boasted 'fine dining' in the Cygnet resturant but I have no knowledge of what this is like.

“Wednesday Carvery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

Booked a table for the Wednesday Carvery, 7pm in The Swan. Pint of Tribute - fantastic pint, served and kept well :)
The carvery set up in the bar, choice of 2 sizes and 2 meats and half a dozen different fresh vegetables. Food was delicious and perfetcly cooked, puddings are excellent and very large portions :) we had home made bread and butter pudding.
Staff very friendly and helpful.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2012

This is a busy drinking pub but people should not be put off by this as the food is very good. There are a variety of choices available and of good quality - tasty and the portions are ample. Do not be put off by the food arriving in a lift to the bar as this does not impact on the heat or quality of the food delivered to the table! Well worth a visit and am sure that you will not be disappointed.
