“Great pub!”
Reviewed November 17, 2013 via mobile

Another pub find on this visit to North Cornwall! The welcome was very warm and friendly! The menu selection is standard stuff, but when the food came out it was hot, and plentiful!! We stayed for a pint after eating as the atmosphere was so warm and friendly!

We might even go back tonight!

“birthday treat”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Down north cornwall for the first time for birthday treat. Stumbled across the Pityme Inn. Popped in initially for a drink but ended up having a meal .Found the bar staff extremely friendly and helpful and decided to try a meal from the specials board. There were two of us who both decided on the homemade chicken tikka. The dish was presented in a stylish fashion with a variety of sides. The food was plentful and extremely tasty. After we had finished our meal we were met by the head chef Steve who wanted to know how are meal was. After commenting how nice it was he informed us it was his own recipe. My partner who is a great curry lover had never tasted such a nice curry. We would advise that if you ever stumbled across the Pityme Inn then give Steve's chicken tikka a go. Great experience all round.

“Sunday lunch”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

Just returned from Sunday lunch, called in and didn't book.
No problem getting a table and all the staff seemed very pleasant. Carvery average, could have been a little hotter, but ok.
Only thing I would comment on the chef carving the meat used his hands to put meat on your plates, would have liked to see him wearing gloves as his nails weren't the cleanest!

“Work in progress”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Called in for a meal on the last night of our holiday. Very friendly welcome from the new owners and the meals arrived hot and well presented. Good pub grub with one or two different dishes on the day's specials. Large portions but we managed a pud as well- no complaints there! The chips could have been a bit better cooked- they were a bit pale and wan. This is a large pub and the owners are to be encouraged in taking it on at the end of the holiday season- they deserve to make it succeed.
