We were booked in to the sister hotel - Stargazy inn - in Port Isaac for my big birthday weekend , and things got off to an interesting start on arriving to find the Stargazy closed down for winter !!
Quick phone call and we met Philip the man in charge at Port Gaverne - we had been transferred to the Port Gaverne - its in Port Gaverne , just down the windy hill from Port Isaac
Its the mots lovely 17C inn with a fabulous bar and snug, food that is out of the top drawer - the chef has worked for some of the top chefs in the country but is very low profile so no songs and dances
Ted our loyal goldendoodle was made totally at home and we loved evry minute
Thanks to Phillip and the team - we will certainly be back

Had a lovely short stay here. Staff lovely. Took our dogs, they were made very welcome both in the hotel and in Port Gaverne and Port Isaac.

The hotel is old and full of character, steep staircase and creaking floorboards.. We had the room with the sea view - spectacular.

Room very comfortable. Food was lovely.

Skin-on fries with truffle and parmesan! LAMB SHOULDER AND PEARL BARLEY BROTH, JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE, SALSA VERDE!! Buttered greens with smoked almonds!!! Ciabatta bread with butter!!!! Honey chilli nuts!!!!! Sloe gin!!!!!! Perfect in every way. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Can't be faulted. (Oh yes, I spoilt my fries by adding tomato ketchup. Best left alone or with a different dip or a home-made sauce. Heinz isn't up to it. Too sweet.)

We adored this seaside inn near a Port Isaac. The staff were charming and friendly, and the food delicious. The stone flagged bars and live fires charmingly matched the rugged Cornish granite in the external walls. We were sad to leave
