Vicky and Simon made us feel immediately like one of the family when we arrived on a Friday evening. The room was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with enough space that it felt we were in our own mini apartment. Hospitality was off the scale -Vicky and Simon are lovely and with kind children and funny conversation, the time passed quickly.
The notorious 'Thimbles special full English' that my boyfriend had been talking about for a month before we arrive managed to surpass expectation - so fresh, so tasty and really wholesome.
All in all, we both had a lovely time exploring the area and getting away from the city for a while. We'll definitely be back in hte summer to meet the pigs too!

Worth it for the breakfast alone - home made sausage, bacon, bread and jams. And eggs from the rare breed hens. Vicki and her family are so lovely it is like staying with friends. Perfectly placed for visiting an abundance of National Trust properties and the room has all the guide books to help you choose. We went to Birling Gap for a stunning cliff top walk and making art on the beach. Also gets my vote for best bed ever to spend an extra hour in when the clocks go back.

so what more could you want? The bedroom and bathroom (you could sleep in the bathroom it's so palatial) was warm spotless and just beautiful. Vicki and her husband and children were very welcoming and friendly, almost felt I had popped in to see old friends, everything was easy, nothing was a problem. And - in the morning - ( dramatic pause!)........the breakfast was heaven. I didn't want to admit to this because everyone will want to go, but, they make their own sausages and smoke their own bacon........oh the joy. Luckily I left my shampoo and conditioner so I will have to go back..............

We were given a very warm welcome by Vicki and given a cup of tea upon arrival. Our room was very spacious and clean and pleasantly decorated. The en-suite was also very spacious and clean. My big complaint however is that as we were staying for two nights our room had not been touched after our first night. We had been out all day and returned about midnight to find that our bed had not been made and our early morning tea cups were still unwashed. This is not a problem when we stay as house guests with friends, but, I do feel when paying £90 per night for bed and breakfast I do expect the bed to be made and cups washed and bathroom checked.
A nice place to stay but over-priced in our opinion.

Thimbles is a delightful b&b set in the lovely East Sussex countryside. Our beautiful room was huge and immaculate. The gardens are particulary lovely. My daughter was thrilled by the small lake with its very own island, watch tower, ducks and water lilies. For her it was Swallow & Amazons come to life! Hosts Vicki and Simon are incredibly warm and welcoming and make every effort to make your stay special. They even presented us some freshly laid eggs to take back with us at the end of our long weekend. From now on this will be the place we stay on our annual trips to Glyndebourne. It really is a special place.

This B&B is set in a stunning location in the heart of East Sussex. Our reception was warm and friendly and we felt very at ease from the moment we arrived. Much of the food served is organically grown and produced by the hosts themselves and is of the highest quality. Would thoroughly recommend the full english and a stroll around the tranquil lake - bliss!
Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated with lovely views over the gardens. Look forward to visiting again soon.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights, with our 3 yo son. We were not very familiar with Sussex but our host made some good suggestions which we followed up. The welcome was friendly, the rooms very good, the double room being larger than we had expected. The breakfasts were good and enjoyed by all of us. Recommended.
