“Excellent attraction and brilliant staff!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

I visited the Scottish Seabird Centre with my wife and two children (aged 3 and 7) today, and we had a great time. Loads of interactive things to explore at our leisure - having the opportunity to control one of many cameras on the islands is a brilliant idea, and the video images are projected onto large screens in front of the control sticks. Seeing the different bird colonies up close without disturbing them is a great idea, and staff are always on hand to explain things or point useful things out.

The kids soft play area was enjoyed by our 3 year old, but the height restriction doesn't allow children much taller than a 3 year old to go in, so be prepared for tantrums from taller children who aren't allowed in (well... not officially anyway!)

There are short 5-10 minute films running continuously throughout the day in the mini-theatre, although a school group came in mid-way through our visit, so we unfortunately had to miss the film about seals, which we really wanted to see.

The staff were all excellent, especially Linda, who was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic - so full credit to her for helping make our visit so enjoyable.

We didn't visit the cafe, but it seemed really popular, and there is an outside area for those sunny days, too.

Brilliant way to spend a couple of hours, particularly as we could use our Tesco Clubcard 'Days Out' Rewards vouchers for admission, too :-)

“Fun and Educational”

The Seabird Centre has it all, fun, food and learning for young and old.
The boat trips are also well worth the money. The guides are very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about sea birds.

Had a lovely lunch at Seabird Centre today (Sunday) and although it was busy the staff coped very well. The food arrived and it was lovely and fresh. As a local I don't visit here enough!!! Well done Seabird Centre!! The only negative thing is that its a bit pricy. Maybe include a drink with childrens meals?? We will be back!!!

“Scottish Seabird Centre”

Took our daughter and friends kids here. They loved it - kept them amused for hours. Plus there is the nice harbour next to it where you can sit and have lunch if the weather is ok, plus the lovely beach on the other side

“Very educational”

The Seabird Centre is such a great place for children. It has so many hands-on things for them to get involved with and my children are now a lot more knowledgeable on the North Seas seabirds than I will ever be!
