“So Disappointed, there is no positives”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2012

Having happily eaten here several times last summer we went on Jubilee Tuesday. We waited 35 minutes for 6 non alcoholic drinks. We ordered only to be told they didn't have enough lobster to fulfill the order. (blessing in disguise). When the food arrived 50 minutes after ordering, the tiny lobster was over cooked and stringy, served with plastic crackers which bent when you tried to crack the shell, no seafood pick.

Despite requesting no salad or dressing with the burger it came heavily laden with both, the chips were bendy and soggy and inedible so when the waitress asked how things were we told her. Her response was "sorry - Would you like more drinks". We left very disappointed, hungry and not to return. When the bill came it didnt include the drinks but that was not the point!

We had one of the top floor rooms for an overnight stay in March. The room was spacious and had views to the Bass Rock and was very clean. The nice ensuite bathroom also had plenty of space. All the staff were really friendly and very efficient. The hotel only has a few rooms and is right in the centre of town perfect for shops and beaches alike. There is limited parking at the rear of the hotel but is worth finding as it is quite expensive in the local pay and display overnight. Only slight criticism would be the lack of an evening meal option. We will return soon as we loved this hotel and it was very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Try to get the top floor room at the back of the hotel.

We stayed in No 12 Quality Street for one night as a wee weekend away in North Berwick. The location of this B&B is spot on, just off the high street with all the little shops and cafes, and minutes away from the beach - perfect. All the staff are lovely and welcoming, and even let us check in early as we had arrived early! There is generally a very relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, with tea and coffee making facilities. HUGE comfy bed. It was a bit cold in our room as the only radiator was by the window and behind a heavy curtain, but it is also winter so an extra jumper and you'll be fine! The shower is fab! The breakfast was scrummy and served very efficiently.

I would absolutely recommend this place!!

Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights after our wedding. We wanted to be somewhere near the beach and thought the rooms looked comfortable and modern.

Checking in was a bit delayed as a result of staffing issues but once given our key we were over the moon. Room 2 was spacious, clean, modern with a brilliant shower. Yes there were a few issues with the taps but everything worked.

Breakfast was served quietly and promptly and was delicious. Fresh fruit and cooked breakfast available...all very tasty.

No 12 is in the heart of North Berwick so the church bells and road noise could be an issue but this is a tiny price to pay for staying in such comfortable surroundings in the BEST town.

We stayed at Quality Street during the last weekend in November. I would class this as a small hotel rather than a B&B experience. There is a pleasent business like and efficient approach from the staff rather than the over friendly B&B style welcome.
The room we stayed in was on the first floor, it was large and light with 2 large windows at the front of the hotel. The room was very clean although there were a couple of maintenance issues in the bathroom that needed a little attention.
The weather when we stayed was cold and extremely windy but the room was lovely and warm with plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits (which were refreshed each day).
The location of the hotel is excellent in that it is close to the beach and the high street, and also has the benefit of a private car park at the rear.
The breakast was excellent and I would definitely recommend the smoked haddock and poached eggs. This isn't a boutique B&B, but it is a pleasent and well run establishment and represents good value for money in my opinion.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper be aware that there is a clock tower across the road from the front of th...

We stayed only one night to break-up a journey from Fort William to our home near Newcastle. The journey down had been horrendous, with torrential rain and flooded roads. We were in need of a good resting place. North Berwick is a place we love and took the opportunity to take our break there. The B & B is above a Café-Bar just off the main street, however, during the winter months it should be noted that the Cafe-Bar is not open to the public until the weekend. That said B & B guests are still served breakfast in the cafe; and what a breakfast it is. Even though we were the only guests (4 others had cancelled as their work on Bass Rock was stopped due to poor weather), a full variety of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats were laid out for our selection; plus a full breakfast menu of hot dishes. I had the poached smoked haddock with a poached egg, a very generous portion and my wife had a similar portion of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Well cooked and presented. Our room was lovely and had recently been freshened up with new paint and was tastefully furnished. There was a modern shower room and toilet en-suite. Another favourable facility is the free small B & B only car park, at the rear of the property and accessed through the main public car park. We would highly recommend this B & B.
