We have had holidays in North Berwick off and on for many years and Homeland is by far the best place we have stayed in. Location is perfect and the views spectacular. We love the flat and have booked to come back next year..The weather was the best we have ever had and therein lay a problem. It was so sunny that the living room and kitchen became extremely and sometimes unbearably hot. Blinds would have been most welcome (especially to those of us who wanted to watch Wimbledon or football)!. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to next year!!
Very comfortable flat with an absolutely stunning view. Just a couple of pieces of feedback. There was lots of seagull poo on the windows which somewhat marred the experience. This of course can't be helped by the seaside - you can't exactly politely ask seagulls to avoid pooing on windows! But considering that the view is one of the key aspects of the flat it would be an idea for them to clean the windows pretty regularly. Also, some blinds or curtains on the living room windows would be good. With the sun burning in, the room could get very hot, and the ability to pull some blinds or curtains wouldn't go amiss. Otherwise, lovely flat!
We have booked again for the third year. This says it all! Great views and location. Clean well presented house.
Not suitable for disabled or young children due to the stairs to enter the house. No parking. These are the only issues with the property.
Absolutely fabulous location, everything you could possibly want in a beautifully furnished flat. Had the loveliest week.cant recommend highly enough.
Marvellous situation overlooking the bay and easy access to the long beach.
Very close to the town centre and restaurants. We were a family if 5 staying for Christmas week, two flying in from NY, two from Kent and one from Ireland.
Most comfortable accommodation for us all and warm as toast.
We had a great Christmas reunion and would definitely stay there again.
We stayed at the Homeland in September and enjoyed every minute of it. It’s hard to imagine better accommodations and the location is as spectacular as the views. Perched above the beach, vistas from the Homeland take in the centuries old North Berwick Harbor, the Firth of Forth and down the beach to the old links course and beyond. You are just steps from great restaurants, shops and pubs along High Street; just steps from the historic waterfront where stand ruins of the old kirk site in the 16th century of the public hangings of witches and where today the Scottish Seabird Centre stands a short boat ride from Bass Rock home of vast colonies of seabirds and just a short drive away from much of Scotland’s best golf and many of its best walks and castle ruins. There’s no need to look further – you won’t find a better base of operations than the Homeland from which to experience a true taste of what Scotland is all about.
