“Fantastic Home from Home in great location!”

Enjoyed a break In this lovely apartment with my husband and my 89 year old mother.
The location is ideal - opposite the train station - so you can manage without a car, but there is a dedicated car parking spot immediately outside the apartment if you Need one. In any case, walking into the town centre or to the beach is easy and manageable even if like my Mum you are not as mobile as you used to be and use a stick!
There are lovely views of the sea, Bass Rock and across to Fife from the balcony and from lounge and kitchen windows.
Jill has furnished and equipped it to the highest standard and the overall ambience is of a really comfortable and desirable home; it is not one of these cold, minimally decorated and furnished rentals which have been put together with an eye to maximisihng profits. Jill clearly cares about her guests and goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need and want to enjoy a self catering holiday in comfort and style. The master bedroom has a beautiful en-suite shower with a larger than average shower tray. Beds are comfortable and linens and towels are excellent quality. The kitchen is fully equipped - again with quality crockery, cutlery and utensils etc. A bonus was the SKY package which ensured my mother who is not so mobile, was never lacking something to watch and be entertained by. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My husband and I are looking forward to returning to number 1 and enjoying a wee break - just the 2 of us - next year.

Jill met us at the building and made us feel comfortable and most welcome immediately.
A clean and bright apartment,, quiet, yet in the heart of this elegant resort, we could leave the
car and walk to all the attractions around the town. Beach was ideal for strolling along- as was the main street with its arty shops and "boutiques". A little Paris on the Scottish coast.
We look forward to our return there.

“Couldn't have asked for more”
Reviewed May 25, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I have always loved staying in North Berwick, and choosing this apartment made it one of the best stays we have ever had there. The apartment is spacious and extremely comfortable. We were given a warm welcome on arrival, as well as a generous welcome pack. The apartment is lovely and warm and well appointed, all the appliances are easy to use. It doesn't have the feel of a rental property as it has a much nicer ambience with lots of special touches. The owner, Jill was very helpful and friendly. Will look forward to renting this again for our next North Berwick fix.

I stayed in North Berwick for the week with my Husband and two children (12yrs and 9yrs) and can honestly say this was as good as a holiday abroad or better. There are so many lovely places to visit in and around the area. A visit to the sea bird centre and boat trip to the Bass rock are a must. We also visited the Museum of Flight and had the opportunity to board concorde! On the same day (Sunday) went to the East Fortune market which had a great variety of good quality fruit and veg. The train station is conveniently situated across the road. We hopped on a train and ended up in the Museum of Edinburgh which has free entry. You could easily spend a week in this museum. There is so much to see and do. There are lots of lovely cafes and restaurants (Thai really good) in North Berwick. On the last day the kids visited Fingers and Thumbs craft shop which they thoroughly enjoyed. The walk up The Law hill is worth the effort to take in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. As for the accommodation....it was of high standard, immaculate and great little extras including a welcome food pack. The owner has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We hope to return next year.

“Absolutely lovely accomodation in the centre of North Berwick”
Reviewed January 21, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

This is a really lovely apartment to stay in. It is immaculately clean with comfortable, attractive furnishings and everything you need for an easy break. The owner Jill is so welcoming and met us within minutes of arriving from our long and wintery journey. The heating was on and there was a welcome pack waiting including a much needed bottle wine. Our whole stay was really superb and I would describe this apartment as one of those places that gives you a great big hug on arrival and that you don't want to leave! We will be back.

“The Perfect Stay!”

If you are reading this review searching for self catering accomodation in North Berwick, my advice would be to stop searching! 1 Royal Apartments is the answer! We stayed for three nights in October and everything about the apartment exceeded our expectations. I stayed with my husband and two children (4 and 1yrs) and because the apartment is on the ground floor it was very easy for us. Private car parking space right outside also was a big factor for us in booking this apartment.

The apartment itself is spotlessly clean, bright and airy. Two bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds. The lounge was bright in the day and cosy at night. Lovely sea views and a balcony to sit on if weather permits. Kitchen had everything you could think of, there is nothing that the owner, Jill, has missed out. Very kindly, a bottle of wine was left for us which was very welcoming and went down a treat when we got the kids to bed. A cot and highchair was provided which was very helpful and cut down on what we had to take with us.

You can walk to town or the beach in 5 minutes, and it is across the road from the train station so location wise you couldn't get better. We walked to the fantastic Seabird Centre with the children and it was only a ten minute walk. On the main street about 5 minutes from this apartment is a wonderful craft/pottery place called 'Fingers and Toes', my son and I spent a few hours there one afternoon, it was brilliant and the two ladies there are so friendly.

We have to spend a bit of time in East Lothian over the coming months and will definately be back to 1 Royal Apartments without any hesitation. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful property, well appointed, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Ms Goodacre was very helpful and gave us a wonderful welcome which included a generous welcome pack which was fantastic. The flat is close to the town centre. The beds so comfortable and the views wonderful. Wish I was heading back next week!
