Pleasant shop and tea room, lovely woodland walks with added interest of red squirrels, harvest mice and rare breed animals

“Beautiful but serious rip-off and increasingly restricted access”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

I have visited Holkam regularly for more than 20 years and it's sad how far the experience has declined.

Beach/Reserve parking used to be a couple of quid for all day and is now at least £5 for anything over two hours.

One used to be able to drive all the way through the estate for free. Now you can only go as far as the big house and have to pay at least £2 if you want to stop there.

Until recently the Beach/Reserve approach road and parking area was only closed (locked) on weekend evenings.

“Excellent Hike-Large Beach - Lot of Birds”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

This is well worth your time if you like the outdoors. The beach at low tide is one of the widest we have visited. We saw many birds during the hike to the beach. Although there were a lot of people, it was very clean and there was plenty of room for everyone. I recommend that you park close to the entrance to avoid a long hike and take two pounds to pay for the parking.
