Never really tire of The Albatross and it always turns up trumps. It is a bit rough and ready but the atmosphere is second to none. The food is very good - mussels, pancakes & pea & ham soup and you get plenty for your money. Sun set is a good time, the views over the marshes are spectacular. Might be a bit dodgy for people with mobility issues.

Love it, great Ales at a good price, lovely atmosphere, sat on the deck listening to 2 chaps sing some great sea songs on the Sunday afternoon, that was the 3rd time we had been there over the weekend. The mussels we had were great. Superb, friendly staff, go there!

Visited the boat while on holiday with friends. We spotted the special was mussels and decided to eat at the restaurant. There is not a lot of choice of main courses, either omelettes or pancakes or on this occasion mussels. However, the mussels were delicious as was the mushroom omelette. Also had sweet pancake for dessert, which was lovely. There was a good atmosphere below deck, but very small and very steep stairs. Would be good for families but not if you are looking for a special occasion meal or if looking for a lot of choice.

There's something comforting about arriving at the Albatross. High or low tide with the gangplank bridge sloping up or down we know that we will receive excellent service an the best view in Wells. Its a great safe spot for kids to crab from deck. The pancakes are good and at the moment Mussels are on the menu and are excellent.

We have been here twice both times we sat on deck. Most wonderful views if looking seaward or of everyone crabbing off the harbor wall. Simple well cooked open dutch pancakes or omelettes & various specials. Tables are mostly at an angle as is the deck, this was a problem for my 87 year old dad but we managed with assistance to get him to the table & sat comfortably. It can be windy so wrap up well & getting down the very steep stairs into the bar/toilet area is tricky. But that is part of the charm you are eating on a Dutch barge that is also a B & B, delightful!
