This is our second time staying at this cosy, comfortable cottage located right in the centre of Wells. It is in a perfect location for accessing all that this area has to offer with great walks, beaches and pubs all close at hand. The cottage itself is beautiful, well equipped, and a welcome retreat after a day of exploring. Planning to go back!
We had a lovely break in Wells. The cottage was comfortable, well furnished and in a superb location for exploring North Norfolk. We enjoyed walks on the beach, birdwatching at Snettisham and sampling the local cuisine (we would particularly recommend The Crown and The Globe, both just 2 mins walk from the cottage). It was great to be at the centre of everything Wells has to offer.
The location of the cottage couldn't be better. Situated on the old high street, it's very peaceful yet you are only a minute or two from the lovely pubs, and the independent shops in the town centre.
There is a popular cafe opposite if you don't fancy cooking breakfast at home - and it's busy all year round (even on the second weekend of January).
The cottage is on three-storeys with a very comfortable lounge/dining area, and a tastefully decorated double room on the first floor, and two single beds in the loft room (which our children loved).
The interiors respect the history of the cottage - there are a few nods to the town's coastal location – but overall the decoration is modern and tasteful.
Our children also really appreciated the selection of toys and DVDs.
We had a lovely long weekend at the cottage. Very comfortable, well equipped and the ideal location, right in the centre of Wells and within walking distance of everything in the town. There is so much to do and see in this beautiful area of North Norfolk that we are planning to return to Elgin Cottage in the summer.
