We Chose Ollies as it looked children friendly and it had mussels on the menu! When we walked in there was a sign saying no mussels !! Later we found out they had not had any for 2 months !! Surely if that was so then take them off the menu!! From there we found out the was no salmon and no Yorkshire pudding with the Yorkshire pudding pie !!. From looking really good value the fish pie was average and £5 for cheap olives and 4 half slices of bread some oil and balsamic and butter (what was the butter for !!) you have to get drinks from the pub after we fought our way to the bar we found that they had no hot chocolate for the kids as the machine had broken. When the kids wanted desert we joked that surely something would be off the menu !! Clearly we were not disappointed the dark choc cheesecake was now white choc ha ha. It was only 7.30pm and we overheard 2 more mains off the menu when other people were ordering!
Understand that they might run out of something but it became a bit of a joke and we arrived at 645 pm !!
It was okay but don't expect to be able to order what's on the menu.

Thank Rob G

Well kept ale, good value pub fayre and friendly staff at this pub/restaurant. Standard pub menu plus specials board. We enjoyed tender rump steak with decent chips and a very tasty creamy pepper sauce, and also lovely thick cut gammon to go with the ham, egg & chips. Would visit again when in Wells-next-the-Sea.

We had visited last year and decided to give Sunday lunch a try. It was great value for money with the lightest syrup sponge and sticky toffee puddings for desert!

Generous portions, nothing special: typical pub food. Ordered the fish'n chips with salad, and the salad came dressed with sweet chilli sauce. I like sweet chilli sauce but not in that context. Great with the spring rolls.
I could do without the music. Photos in the Lifeboat Room are very interesting.

Thank frigate

we ate here in January and also last november for lunch meals. The portions are good and well cooked and the staff friendly. The beers are local and there is usually an open fire. Good to find something that is not a gastro pub or restaurant. Oly drawback is that food and drinks have to be paid for in separate places Would return as we visit Wells regularly
