lovely room friendly staff and a good location. ate in the restaurant which was very good and excellent value for money. nice comfy room and a good full English in the morning. cant fault anything.the bar was kept open until we left so we had a few before going to bed. the hotel is reasonably small but finished and decorated perfectly and was very clean

This planned at the last minute and what a lovely place it was. Decor was elegant with lovely touches like flowers and candles on the tables. We started with drinks in the bar, then the waitress took us to our table and carried our drinks, nice touch. Lobster bisque soup had a lovely depth of flavour. Followed by Roast Beef and homemade Yorkshire puds. Served with roast and mashed potatoes with spring onions and vegetables. Everything home made which makes all the difference. Lovely vanilla cheesecake followed by coffee. Great price at 2 courses for £9.95.

We were bought a groupon deal for here as a present. It was easy to find and parking was fine. We had a lovely welcome and the lady showed us to our room (7). The room was a luxury and very spacious, with a large bed, TV, sofa, dressing table, tea and coffee making facilities, good size bathroom but no bath to my husbands disappointment! Hair dryer and iron/ironing board could be requested.
The room was very clean and had very large windows to the road. It was very cold in our room and this is probably due to no heating as it is August (weather was average but not hot!) and the single glazing.
We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner as we wanted to go out.
We had a good nights sleep apart from the drunk youths going past our room at 2.00am having a argument! This isn't the hotels fault of course but we could hear every word due to the single glazing.
Breakfast was really nice but the poor waiter seemed to be on his own (apart from the chef of course!), we had to wait to be seated and then wait for tea/coffee and hot breakfast. Once we ordered our hot breakfast (paid extra for) it came very quick and was very nice. There are no menus so hard to know what to expect from breakfast.
Overall a lovely stay in a lovely town but the hotel could make improvements in relation to more staff!

A delightful historic property which appears to be in excellent order throughout & is thoroughly clean. Our room (#3) had a large king sized bed with two arm chairs, kettle, tv & 3 massive windows making it very light & airy. There is not much of a view but the area appears to be really peaceful. There were a number of tables in the small but pleasant restaurant when we arrived (late lunch) & there was a number of diners for that evening too so it appears to be a successful venture. We opted to eat elsewhere (see review of The White Lodge, Attleborough) no particular reason except that there wasn't really anything either of us fancied on the menu. We had a small problem with our shower resulting in my partner having a freezing cold shower in the morning which was a bit of a miserable start for him - it's an old house & such things can happen. We sought assistance which was willingly given but it would have been helpful if we had known that the plumbing was a little prone to this.

Very polite staff, lovely large well appointed room. Was attending a function elsewhere so didn't eat there but the restaurant was large and airy. The only slight draw back was that as it was a warm night the staff had left the double glazed windows open which reminded you how close the back of the hotel was to the main road behind it.

I recently stayed at this hotel after friends highly recommended a weekend break here. I found the standards very high, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I ate in the hotel on one evening and the food was fantastic. I'd also like to mention the helpful, friendly and attentive staff who were always on hand to offer help and advice during my stay. Overall a very pleasant stay in a wonderful hotel.
