“Great”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

This mostly ruined castle has it all. Great moat with steep sides, crumbling walls and yet inside are several beautifully intact rooms. The handheld audio tour is OK but if it is a windy day it disrupts the sound somewhat. So much for the castle: after your visit walk into the village it is fantastic. Lovely tea room, great pub, ancient church (always open) and a converted barn that has been turned into an Aladdin's Cave selling all sorts of interesting things. Castle Rising is absolutely a must day out if you are in North Norfolk anywhere near Kings Lynn

“Lovely little castle”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

We took our 'castle mad' 9 year old here and spent around 11/2 to 2 hours wandering around the ruins, a really lovely morning

“Last minute decision to visit”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

This venue was stunning, the keep was amazing and the castle itself was in pretty good order. There was a room which had been extremely well kept and gave visitors a feel of how people may have lived in the 16th century.

“Nice place to visit”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Turned up just after 10.00 am on a cloudy day, only 2 other cars there, thought they could be the staff and is this a very popular attraction? Yes this is a popular attraction as quite a few cars turned up after we did, we had an unguided tour and just roamed around at our will, very interesting castle with lots of history, obviously, and the grounds where well maintained as well, would recommend having a leisurely walk around the village afterwards.
