After paying to enter, not much to see. Better to just look from outside and visit the gift shop to get the history. Actually met Lord Howard.

Norman was great, told the group I was with (youngsters) all about the resident ghosts and then showed the photographic evidence. We were impressed and promptly went on our own ghost hunt.......whilst learning about the history of the castle of course. A very interesting place and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Visit fairly often and never get fed up.

Super ruins of old priory, some of which is intact - the ruins are huge and interesting, the setting beautiful, nestling by the river Nar, one of the cleanest rivers in England and a fabulous place for kids with the ford for splashing around in when it's hot. Don't miss out on the village at the top of the hill, nor the castle which is open all year and free of charge
