Owner description: Welcome to one of King's Lynn most beautiful buildings, The Majestic Cinema. This stunning cinema was officially opened on 23rdMay 1928; with the year commemorated in the stained glass windows at the front of the building. As an independent cinema, the Majestic prides itself on being a friendly place to come for all movie goers. The main attraction to the Majestic, beside its films, is the building itself and all the history that comes with it. Today, the Majestic has three screens but back when it was first opened the Majestic had one two tier screen (where Screen 1 and 2 are now), and a ballroom (where Screen 3 is now). Over the years the Majestic has transformed but features from its past still live on within the building. You just need to know where to look. When you next visit the Majestic look out for certain features like the stained glass windows in the main entrance, the circle of zodiac signs in the ceiling of Screen 1, the bouncy spring-layered floor in Screen 3, and the old stage in Screen 2. Every year the Majestic takes part in King's Lynn's Heritage Day where you have the chance to explore the cinema in more detail and to learn about the buildings past. The Majestic puts on tours with knowledgeable staff always willing to guide you through its history. Currently, the Majestic has three screens. Screen 1, with its ornate dome, seats 313. Screen 2, which holds 245 seats. This screen has disabled access and also has a superior quality hearing loop system. Screen 3 holds 113 seats and was originally the ballroom which closed 1977. All of our screens now have Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound installed.

“Brilliant cinema”

I love this cinema, been going here since i was a kid and watch my first movie here. Independent cinema and a very old character building has a old theater feel to it. Is only a small venue not like a massive chain cinemas like showcase or odeon but that suits me just fine. Has 3 screens and films only last about 1-3 weeks depending on if they popular. Insanely cheap, only £4 a ticket and a XL popcorn and soft drink will set you back about £5-6. Much better than a showcase which is pushing close to £10 a ticket nowadays and you have to take a mortgage out just to buy popcorn or a drink. I cannot fault this cinema at all. great atmosphere.

“Quaint and great value”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

What a wonderful little gem of a cinema, helpful staff, extremely well priced tickets and refreshments and such a welcome change from the experiences of the mass chain cinemas - they could learn a lot in terms of offering value for money. Our kids who had never been to a cinema like this really enjoyed the experience. People of Kings Lynn you are lucky to have a such a great place! Also the film Xmen was awesome. One last thing, the cost of parking was reasonable too, all in all a good value afternoon out.

The 50 Shades of Red and Purple Women of Kings Lynn watched Philomena in cinema 3. It was very comfortable, we all had drinks and enjoyed the film.

A great Cinema, incredible service with the added benefit of being close to the centre of Lynn. I would recommend as a great place if you fancy a quiet film with the Wife and/or kids.

It's your common cinema which everyone loves right in King's Lynn. It's a beautiful building to watch a movie. I have seen lots of movies there like The Croods , Despicable me 2 , Epic, Nanny Mcphee 2 and lots more. Best of all the prices are quite descent.Love it there.
