This is a small museum which dedicates itself to the fishing North End area of Kings Lynn. There are great reconstructions of the living conditions and also some very good boat models. There is an area for children to draw and make art as well. However the trail booklet given to children is not well designed as it involves a very high level of detail and some quite obscure questions.

A good little museum

Very informative little museum focused on the lives of fisherfolk on the North End of Kings Lynn. My ancestors lived in the town in the late 1800s, and although not in the immediate True's Yard area, it gave me an insight into how their lives would have been.

Really interesting little museum. Lots of photos explaining the history of Kings Lynn and how people lived in the North End and the demolition of the area. Was fascinating. The small cottages brought home how families lived in such small homes and how they must have strived make a living. The only criticism is that the outside not well maintained, a
lot of weeds making it look unkempt. Otherwise well worth a visit .

Some 20 years since we last visited Trues Yard. The museum is still very good and informative heritage museum, run by a volunteer staff. They do ask no photos within the museum - unclear if the cottages, boat and smokehouse; which are outside are considered within the museum.

The moderate entrance costs reflects how long you need to go around.

visited this really excellent museum last week with our 9 year old granddaughter what a brilliant find. Very informative and easy to get around clean and well laid out. The tea rooms are good and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
