The Duke's Head Hotel overlooks the Tuesday Marketplace in King's Lynn, one of the only vibrant places in northern Norfolk, and is a figurehead of the town centre. When I first came to King's Lynn to stay a few years ago, the building was a disgusting shade of pink, and wasn't very inviting, however, having heard about very recent changes and refurbishments, we decided to stay just before Christmas. What a difference - the building is now an inviting shade of pale blue, and looked stunning covered in subtle Christmas decorations.
Reception staff were friendly and welcoming - we had lunch in the Griffins restaurant, which was buffet-based and was excellent value-for-money, and we had dinner one night in the Turners - true fine dining, the haute couture of food! Totally unexpected, but what an excellent surprise! There were parties on the weekend we stayed, but noise was not a problem, the room we had was gorgeous - someone with a real eye for interior design has obviously taken charge on the refurbishments!
We could not have been more impressed, hence this debut review! Thank you to everyone there!More
