“Excellent history of the old Gaol and Town history”

Good exhibits with ample documentation so that you knew exactly what you were looking at. Kids will enjoy learning about what happened to witches in the past.

“Eat some porridge !”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Easy to find and an interesting 45 minutes spent looking at the old jail house with its relics, which then toured into the civic hall area showing some of the town's culture and historical links. You can use an audio guide as you walk through which was helpful. You can take photos of each other in the stocks etc which is funny and can also sit in the old cells and experience what they were like. The old days were grim !!!

“Small but well priced”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Wont take you too long to see this attraction but is worth a visit. At under £4.00 per person this is a low cost trip for all weathers. Audio tour can be taken and there are interactive displays and great fun for children and educational for all

“A step back in time”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Have lived in Kings Lynn all my life so I was very interested to step back in time, to see how the fishing communities lived in years gone by, and especially how my parents lived in the general area of North End. Very interesting and worth a look.

“Don't miss this attraction”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

If you are in Kings Lynn and have a spare hour and a half, don't miss this attraction. It is a small museum and gives a real insight into how gaols were many years ago (it's a pity they aren't like that now - might have more impact! You can take your own fingerprints, see how witches were dealt with, sit in the stocks etc. Then there are the old docs (yes photocopies but the originals are too precious to put on public display). King John's regalia is also on display. I know children enjoy this visit but adults can also spend well over an hour in this museum.
