Really impressed by this hotel. We stayed just one night recently as a bit of a treat and loved everything about the place. The rooms are beautifully decorated and really well equipped although our room (Horseradish) was rather on the small side. The bathroom, again very small, was wonderfully equipped with a lovely shower. The rooms are great but the highlight of the stay was dinner.
Food was beautifully cooked and the menu has a very interesting range of choices. Our starter of pan-fried squid was delicious as was the Gressingham confit duck. As someone who doesn't generally do dessert I couldn't resist the sticky toffee creme brulee.
Breakfast was equally exciting and I can really recommend the sauted msuhrooms on toast with poached egg. Staff are all very attentive and friendly.
We will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: Go for one of the larger rooms - costs a bit more but probably worth it.

We stayed here as part of our mini-moon after our wedding. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and we were personally shown to our room. The bedroom was amazing...beautiful view of the estate, coffee and tea making facilities, and even some home-made chocolate brownies!! A very comfortable bed which excellent quality bedding. A huge shower with a huge and powerful shower head and the room on the whole was in immaculate condition. The food was amazing, with excellent service and breakfast had lots of choices with locally sourced food. A beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location with fantastic staff and service.

Room Tip: Elderberry room is where we stayed

My wife and I went for a one night stay through Travelzoo having read the reviews. Overall we were more than happy with the service, rooms, location and the little extras like bubbly on arrival and brownies in the room. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal but unfortunately my Bressingham duck was a bit on the chewy side, but the rest of the food (and breakfast) was more than fine. Another small beef, the wine ordered from the wine list was not available but the second choice was more than adequate but a bit OTT pricewise. Travelzooers beware if you take the deal that we did, you must pay extra for three courses, but it was still very good value for money.

Stayed here last weekend, and would thoroughly recommend it.
Special mention goes to Sarah for professional and friendly service and to Anna, who's food was scrummy.
We couldn't really find anyway to fault this stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in Horseraddish, which has a fairly bijou bathroom, I would avoid this one if you are heav...

Our second stay this year at this lovely hotel. The food at dinner was amazing and the staff could not be more helpful. Breakfast was a joy. The bedroom and en suite were clean and spacious. We will be going back.

If you are looking for a very comfortable, quiet hotel in this part of Norfolk, with good food, attentive staff & a relaxed ambiance then don't bother to look elsewhere.
Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and we will be back.
Only one complaint..I have never paid as much as £4.75 for a bottle of local beer (Adnams) anywhere else. This is really well over the top & I would have had more if the price had been more reasonable.

Room Tip: We stayed in Elderberry (deluxe double room) which overlooked the front lawn & was very comforta...

my wife and I booked for two nights for our wedding anniversary and her birthday. we booked the mulberry suite. we had a very warm welcome from the staff and were shown to our room. we loved it, it was well decorated, modern and spotlessly clean. there was even fresh cold milk for our in room tea and coffee. we ate in the hotel's restaurant in the evening and we're served with first class food and very attentive service. after a great night's sleep, we went down for breakfast and we're faced with an excellent choice and excellent service. we were very pleased with this hotel and the owners and all staff should be very proud of themselves.
