Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

This was the second time we had visited the rising sun since it reopened the first time the ploughmans was very average. It wasn't overley busy but food took ages to arrive today was told 50 minute wait .definately not prepared to wait that long for that sort of mediocre food

“Don't let the children look at the kids' menu!!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

We arrived on a very busy Sunday afternoon and were met by polite, efficient staff and were served with our food quite quickly. The food was tasty, well cooked and the portions were a good size. The only disappointing thing that was that the kids' menu advertises a free ice cream cone, but the pictures on the menu are of novelty ice creams which cost an extra £2.50 each; try and convince a child to have a cone when they have seen the picture of the Yellow Monster!

“Great food lovely location”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

We ate here a couple of times whilst in Norfolk and what a find. Firstly the location is lovely the garden being next to the river. A nice warm summers day watching the wildlife and boats going by what could make it better. Well that’s easy the excellent food and a good selection of real ale’s. The menu is very good with a descent selection at reasonable prices. I had the crab salad on both occasions, as it was so good. The other food coming out also looked very good. The food is prepared to order so there can be a small delay if lots of boats come in at the same time but that to be expected. Highly recommended.

“Sooo Rude!”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Regarding review from Sheila Milsted, I was the one who was told to 'stop complaining and drink your wine', I couldn't believe anyone could be so rude to a customer. There was no hint of an apology and when we pointed out that they had lost a lot of orders that night and their reputation among local people, the landlord replied 'we can cope'. He may be busy in the summer, but this arrogant attitude won't help when he wants local trade in the winter. I give him a year at most. If the twenty people there all tell their friends he's lost a large number of customers, each one valuable. When I told a colleague who lives locally she said they had to wait an hour for their food one lunchtime, she won't go there again either. I advise anyone on holiday to give this pub a miss and for a short walk there are other pubs in the village which provide a much better service and food.
