Lovely clean character cottage, will stay again. Good to find somewhere with a garden in Blakeney. Nice to have an ensuite. Comfortable seating in lounge and a good nights sleep as quiet.
Such a sweet cottage, really full of charm. We enjoyed our stay in Blakeney and visiting many new places. Particularly loved the places to eat and the seal trip. The cottage was great, just what we needed. The fact that it was on the High Street, but down a little alleyway tucked away within a walled garden suited us as it was quiet. Very clean and tidy with an ensuite which we were glad of. It was as described and we would definitely visit again.

Kitchen: Grime on cupboard doors, wooden door to fridge coming away from hinges, scraped on floor and wouldn't close. Dust on shelves etc. Cooker rings rusty. We used only the kettle and toaster. Bathroom: there was an area of rust on the bottom of the bath which fragmented when draining the bath/shower, dust in corners of the floor, cobwebs behind toilet and on window, thick dust on the top of the wall heater Sitting Room: Stains on carpet, dust on hearth and ornaments, dirty pace mats (dried liquid marks), price tag cords still attached to cushions. Bed 1: Rickety and creaky bed which needs inspection as it seems to be at risk of collapse, the wardrobe (approx. 15" wide) was much too shallow and didn't take normal size hangers hence the door had to be left permanently open!, much rust dust on and around grate and on carpet below, Bedroom 2: As one of us couldn't sleep in the double bed because of the creaking, decided to move into the single room only to find that although the beds had covers, they hadn't been made up which meant we had to obtain bedding elsewhere. If it hadn't been for the fact that we were in Norfolk to visit family, we would have returned home the morning after arriving.

We had a wonderful stay in this sweet little cottage in Blakeney with our little dog too. It was clean, warm and comfortable. The stairs are a little scary but manageable - only to be expected in an older property though. The place felt secluded, quiet and private.
It was a very simple process to book and the owner was pleasant to deal with online.
Thank you for a lovely stay :)
Have just returned from a great stay In Hollyhocks. What a dear cottage. Everything clean, , nicely decorated and everything as far as we can see up to a really good standard. Loved Blakeney, lots of good walks, great places to eat and a really unique place to stay. Norfolk is a wonderful place for a holiday. Will be using this cottage again. A cut above most we have stayed in.

Hollyhocks Cottage was such a lovely cottage, our dream! We love Blakeney and come often, but have never found one that we want to come to again. Now we have!! It was lovely in every way. Bags of character, (don't come if you are expecting a surburban style property) It is quaint, with noks and crannies and certainly suits people well versed in the character cottages that are in Blakeney - they all have windy stairs!
It is well maintained and very clean and has all the facilities you need. We will certainly be coming again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Unlike all other holiday cottages we have rented in Blakeney in previous years, this cottage needs some love and attention (and money) spending on it. The kitchen cupboard doors don't close properly, the en suite shower room toilet was blocked and the shower was very weak, although the one in the bathroom downstairs was fine. Entry is via the rear of the cottage (in fact it has no front, the other end overlooks next door's garden) and the door is very close to the windows of the other properties, so not much privacy. I also think the owner should warn prospective renters that the stairs are very narrow and steep, I am in my 50s and slipped down the stairs during my stay, bruising myself quite badly. I am sorry not to have been able to leave more positive feedback, as the owner was very obliging and pleasant to deal with.
