Stayed as a last minute weekend break at the beginning of May, beautiful hotel, friendly staff especially Sue who was our waitress in the evening. Food in the evening & breakfast was extremely good. My only complaint when advising the receptionist I was highly allergic to lilies (as they were a floral display in the reception area) weren't removed.
If you want a hotel to feel like you're escaping the rat race of life, this would be the one for you!

Room Tip: Book early to get a room with a view

Having stayed before and totally raved about this hotel, the wonderful staff, food and general ambiance it has been disappointing to return and notice a few small changes, the type that might not bother some, but sadly took the shine off for us.

1. The lookout no longer a quiet room. Although a little pompous I agree, it did prevent the onslaught of children and their parents thinking it was ok to take over the entire hotel with noise and game playing!!!! Now, I'm not anti child, but when paying the price for an A grade room it should be ok to assume that kids will not be everywhere you go, the bar, the lounge and the once very serene, "respect other peoples peace and quiet" lookout!

2. The lack of a single magazine in the bedrooms. I find this sad, surely the hotel can afford a simple local magazine?? This calibre of establishment should not be trying to save a few pennies by scrimping in such a way. Yes, they are in the lounge but not many, and they have stickers on saying "lounge copy" do not remove. Honestly, it's low and very noticeable.

We haven't finished our stay yet, however I hope not to find any need to say anything further, unless it's good.

On the plus side, the receptionist and other staff have been very pleasant so far and the hotel itself is still lovely. This is why the aforementioned points are such a shame, easily rectified and would make such a big difference. The adults staying here do deserve at least ONE place to retreat too without having to hear toddlers and noisy games. Management please take notice of this. I am not alone, I heard many people groan and comment when children came in and shattered the peace without a second thought.

We first stayed here over 20 years ago, and just keep coming back despite it being a round trip of 500+ miles, and each journey lasting for over 4 hours, mostly motorway.

The decor is just right, quite elegant without being over the top. Pastel colours everywhere, some “old” furniture. The bedrooms are very comfortable, plenty of storage space, adjustable lighting, all have en-suite bathrooms. There is a large swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room, gym, snooker room, and games (table tennis, etc) room, plus a deceptively large garden. If you time it right, as we did, you can get the pool to yourself. There is a nice sun-terrace, only a few yards from the bar that stocks local ales. There are two lounges, one on the first floor overlooking Blakeney Quay. The restaurant is excellent, a wide choice of food, much of it locally caught, or reared, or grown. One of the waiters said, “This time of year we have both local crab and asparagus on every night, chef changes what he does with it every night”. The wine list is impressive, house wines are excellent value.

The staff are all friendly, and helpful. When you arrive, a great big smile greets you at reception, and when you leave, they make paying pleasant. Some of the staff were there when we first stayed, they always manage to find time to catch up on our news, and newer ones seem to be in the same mould. They make the place.

Room Tip: Some, not all, rooms allow dogs,

I am a part time resident of Blakeney. Have eaten here for many years. So what has gone wrong this year. Sunday lunch carrots so big, why can,t they slice them. Last time, broccoli had yellow tips which to me means past sell by date. At home you would throw them away. Cabbage obviously seen better days. Where were the rolls! gave us a slice of bread whats that all about. The creme anglais oh dear me, was just hot water with flavoring. It is quite clear no one is monitoring the food coming out of the kitchen ( known as the pass). If so they could not care less what they are sending out. Yet just had lunch in the bar midweek smashing fish and chips. What I have seen so far this year the food is average, so does it deserve 3 stars NO. What I find frustrating is that no one from the hotel, if they read Tripadvisor, they are not responding to complaints which they can do so. Does that mean they don,t care what people say. Huge stain on the carpet in the bar paper towels in the toilets I have been to better 2 stars than this. Unable to talk about rooms as not stayed there. So come on management get stuck in and sort things out. Other people I know have complained to the restaurant staff and to the reception we are all of the same impression the hotel just does not care. That,s the impression they give. Will we go back, of course we will. Not the restaurant yet. In the bar Yes. So come on Blakeney Hotel give us feed back.

We were staying in Blakeney House and decided to eat at the Blakeney Hotel as my sister in law and her husband had stayed there recently and enjoyed it.
The view from the dining room over the marshes is wonderful we were greeted in a very friendly way. Staff went out of their way to help. They had been worked off their feet over the bank holiday and were happy there were only 60 covers the night we visited rather than the 130 of the evening before. Everyone was smartly dressed.
The hotel felt a little old fashioned but the food was pretty good. We had fresh asparagus with a good sauce and excellent fish soup as starters; roast pork and haddock as the main; and Swiss apple tart and excellent chocolate Marquise for dessert with coffee and truffles in the lounge. We were recommended a New Zealand Viognier which was reasonably priced and not bad at all.
We enjoyed visiting the Blakeney Hotel and would go back if we ever spend several days in the area. The whole meal cost us around £90

Staying in the village for a casual short break and went into the Blakeney for dinner after a recommendation. After being ignored by several staff and brusquely told to wait a minute by the receptionist, my friend went to ask the restaurant manager for a table. He looked her up and down with a marked look of distaste and said unless we were resident they were full. There were many tables empty. Clearly our money was not good enough for them, (that was how he made us feel), so we got in our E class and V70 and spent our £350 elsewhere. Arrogant and pompous. Had been thinking of booking a long family holiday there before this. Won't be doing that now.

Having been to the blakeney hotel a number of times for lunch. Found the food to be very average, the vegetables were cooked but the broccoli was out of date and yellow.
The creme anglais was the closes think to yellow water I have ever seen. When I offered to show the chef how to cook creme anglais I was not taken up on the offer.
I think you need to get a new chef or someone to check the food before it enters the restaurant. The service was very good and the restaurant was nicely laid out. This was a very disappointed visit. Plus the restaurant wasn't that busy.
