“Pleasant mid week break”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

Have just spent a very pleasant mid week break at the Blakeny. The hotel was indeed very pleasant with comfortable rooms (mine was in the Granary Annexe) and really good food for both breakfast and dinner.
The staff were friendly and helpful and its location is right on the estuary and coast, very good for bracing walks before or after meals.
The facilities are great for all ages although the pool should be a few degrees warmer, not at all inviting for a second swim!!
All in all a very pleasant break.

We have stayed at The Blakeney Hotel many times, always with our children and usually over bank holiday weekends. We love Blakeney and the local area and we also love the hotel. The children really enjoy the games room and pool. We have always found breakfast to be outstanding and dinner is usually good. The price (family of four over bank holiday weekends) is always top end and we view a stay as a special treat. We find it frustrating that we have to have bed, breakfast and dinner (this rule apples for bank holidays) as we would like to try more of the local restaurants /pubs.
The recent bedroom and public areas refurb are very welcome. The dining room and bar now need to be similarly updated.
I am surprised that management have chosen not to reply to the review comments made on Trip Advisor. At the end of every stay we are asked to complete a short satisfaction survey. Management have have written to acknowledge any negative comments/minor grumbles that we have raised.
Over the years we have seen the same core team in the dining room - some of them are real characters! Perhaps a little more warmth from some of the staff eg reception would go a long way to offset negative comments raised in other reviews. However the traditional nature of the hotel is part of its appeal for us. It will be a very sad day when our children no longer want to accompany us to the Blakeney Hotel!

My wife and I, and out small dog stayed at Blakeney for the first time the week before Easter. It was freezing cold and we watched the snowflakes falling while we ate breakfast on the second morning. Even so, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The room was clean, the food wonderful, the staff friendly, the indoor pool fantastic. Really, we could not have asked for more got a two-day break.

Spent a 3 night break here with my husband for my 60th birthday. Room was excellent with a balcony overlooking the estuary. Food was good as was the service. All the staff were friendly and had time for a chat. Location peaceful and relaxing, just what we wanted.

Room Tip: Room 47 was lovely.

Excellant hotel and in an excellant location. Unique features such as The Lookout and The Boat Room made this a truely coastal hotel. Views over the creaks and out to sea meant there was always plenty to look at. Everything was first class service and the staff friendly. I ended up with my own little private rose garden by stepping out of the door in my room, which was a pleasant surprise. My only moan would be noisy toddlers in the spa pool and swimming pool area when adults were trying to relax, but that's down to the parents and not directly a fault of the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 21 - opens out into its own little rose garden and is very quiet.

I have been a regular visitor to the Blakeney Hotel usually at lunchtimes midweek and have never been disappointed. The hotel is very clean and the staff that have served on my visits have always been extremely professional and pleasant as well as being friendly.

All the food is presented attractively and their roast beef sandwiches and crab and cucumber are two of the best you choices you will make if you want a quick lunch and a quiet drink.

I cannot comment on the rooms or an overnight stay, but every time we have been we have come away feeling happy and relaxed - would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Went and had a mid week lunch in the restaurant. The food was very good as was the service. The setting is remarkable. The hotel grounds are very impressive and the whole place was very well maintained. The cost of lunch was reasonable for such a high quality hotel. Definitely a place to go back to.

Room Tip: It is best to book as the restaurant gets very busy.
