We love this hotel for it;s location next to the spit where the kids can catch crabs all day long. The views are stunning. It is expensive but for some good old fashioned family fun it can't be beaten. Our kids love the pool and there is a little games room, but it's all about the location. School holidays are a bit too bust for our liking but out of season it;s perfect for a night away.

Room Tip: There is a room with bunk beds in a separate annex

Having first visited in May, we took the opportunity of a childless weekend to make a return visit, Friendly greeting from reception, and room available even though it was barely past mid day. Offer of a porter to carry our bags made immediately, but declined as we were easily able to cope.
Room on the top floor with an excellent view, the gale force winds on Friday night made the windows rattle, but the heating kept us warm. Only criticism of the room is that the TV was rather small for a top grade room.
Made full use of the pool and sauna.
With it being half term the hotel had a lot of families staying, which resulted in a very different atmosphere to our previous visit. Far more people using the pool, and far more people in the lounge in the evening.
Evening meals once again to a very high standard, with many items on the menu changing every day.
Breakfast with as much from the cold buffet as you wish for, toast and coffee delivered to your table with offers of more, and a choice of one item from the hot menu.
The staff without exception all provided good friendly service.

We returned here (having stayed last year) for 3 nights at the end of September. We paid up for rooms on the second floor with balconies overlooking the estuary: our room was very comfortable, well laid-out, and had great views of the estuary, although adjusting the room temperature for the night was a bit hit-and-miss. The refurbishment which was under way the last time we came seems to be largely complete: I only saw one small area of corridor not yet done. As there is a wide variety of rooms, I think, if possible, it's worth ringing the hotel and choosing your room number in advance: the stall are helpful in describing the different rooms.

In contrast to some other recent reports, we found both the breakfasts and dinners were really good. The dining room was full in the evenings, but the service was reasonably prompt, and all the staff we met were friendly and efficient. During the week, the majority of the guests were elderley, but the mix changed on a Friday and Saturday nights, with quite a lot of families with young children.

We really like this hotel, and while it is expensive, it's worth it, and we will stay at the Blakeney again.

Very poor hotel. Reception staff were surly and did not seem to care. The decor was faded and in desperate need of updating . The room was clean but smelt of moth balls. We chose to eat elsewhere on the advice of the bar staff! I would rate this hotel between three star and residential care home.

We have stayed at the Blakeney many times, with and without children, dogs and friends. We would not keep going back if we did not like it so much. It is not cheap but does provide value for money.

The pool and spa facilities are super and breakfasts, in particular, are excellent

Unfortunately we weren't staying at the hotel but just called in for lunch. Although we were minutes away from the time when lunches would no longer be served we were made to feel very welcome. All of the staff who attended to us were very professional and very friendly - couldn't be faulted.

A good range of options were available on the menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed our choices (main and dessert). Given that we arrived quite late for lunch there was never any hint of being hurried along - courses were served at a pace that was very acceptable. we were invited to take our coffees in a very comfortable lounge overlooking the waterfront. Whilst there tea and, very appealing looking, cakes were served to some of the others in the lounge - wish we could have stayed!

From what we could see in the hotel it offers some good and varied facilities - I'd happily stay there.
