“Good food good value”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Sunday lunch, 3 courses under £20, delicious local mussels, crab salad, pork with crispy crunchy crackling, pink roast sirloin, (as opposed to the usual over done grey geriatric beef of so many places ) and salmon wrapped in parma ham. Finished off with a light sticky toffee pudding, or plum crumble. Good solid tasty cooking. This place is good , and I will go back.

“A popular restaurant serving great food”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

A wild and windy day saw us looking for somewhere to eat and warm up!. We happened upon The Moorings and found a circular table in the corner large enough to accommodate 4 adults a small child and a large buggy. The menu was quite short, but each item was freshly prepared, well presented and very tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the premises spotless.

“The Moorings: a gem in North Norfolk”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

They say that the best businesses make money because they don't focus on it.
The Moorings is a good example. We're fussy people (well I am actually) - often asking for something to be modified or changed. On Friday and Saturday night we ate here and had a really great time. The staff are brilliant; intelligent, thoughtful and courteous. The menu is terrific. And the wine was excellent.
All sorts of things stand out: being given a jug of water without having to ask; when we asked to share some dishes, instead of giving us a spare plate they divided the dishes so each of us enjoyed them presented perfectly; the nice table linen and fresh flowers.
I am sure that this well run (family owned?) business is successful - and profitable - and that is richly deserved. For what they specialise in is the kind of relaxed, tasty, unpretentious cooking (and amazing puddings) and warm ambiance that many of us look for and seldom find.

Nice positioned location, not value for money, the chef walked to the toilets wearing his apron not hygienic!
