An excellent restaurant, evident by the fact that it was fully booked on a Thursday evening in October. A fairly small menu including lovely fresh seafood. Make sure you save room for the delicious desserts. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

This little cafe/restaurant is a pleasant if not a little overcrowded establishment close to the quay. We booked for Sunday Lunch in the window seat. This was a good choice as its much brighter than sitting further in the cafe which is short of natural light.

The food service staff (2 of them) were busy and therefore service was a little slow. Unfortunately they did lack social and food service skills. It was a rather a perfunctory style of service.
The menu has reasonable choice with a fish alternative. The first courses were well prepared and presented with good flavours and good quantity. The roast beef came up rare as requested good portion, tender and good flavour and the gravy served separately. The fresh vegetables were correctly cooked hot and good portions. The salmon with grey shrimps was served in a lovely sauce that promoted the lightly cooked salmon, an excellent dish.

The desert menu was varied and very popular. They were of good quality and well presented. Unfortunately, the popular ones ran out very quickly. The lemon tart was delightful, sharp and delicate with good paste that was thinly pinned out, but unfortunately not quite cooked. A 'light blind' cooked start would help.

The prices are a fraction on the high side albeit the position and area will accept such. That said it was a lovely meal set in a beautiful part of North Norfolk.

I would recommend this as a good cafe/ restaurant.

Despite living in Norfolk for over 12 years we had not been to this family run restaurant before. We had an evening meal on my eldest son's 40th birthday and all thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fish and beautiful cooking. The desserts were absolutely georgeous especially the home-made brandy basket with a selection or sorbets and fresh fruit which my eldest grandaughter had, they even put a candle on my son's dessert - a nice touch we thought.

Would highly recomment this small family run restaurant and will certainly be returning.

Several visits over the years and still the standards here remain high. I'm not a great seafood fan but I usually get tempted here to try something outside my comfort zone - this time the bass - and thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner had the lobster and pronounced it amongst the best she'd ever tasted.

Only downside - it's a shame you need to book well in advance, particularly for Fridays/Saturdays. Turning up impromptu usually means disappointment. Still, I guess this is a measure of how thoroughly this place deserves it's popularity.
